Cant work and cant travel are the worst part of it...at least with the work permit time goes by much faster....travel is at your own risk and it s not worth it as long as you really need to...will keep praying and waiting...and trying to be positive

Hello! I just want to ask. I applied for my PR under family class sponsorship (spousal-inland canada) two days 3 days before my work permit expires. Its 26th of January 2017 then they receive it 29th of January. My work permit expires 1st of February. I also applied for open worke permit with that application. Do i need to apply for restoration or i just need for the Cic's response? Thank you so much!

Guyana Girl if it has not been returned by now you are fine.

I had all those issues so maybe it was because of the numerous mistakes.

Thanks for putting my heart at ease there :)

I am not sure. I think you should be okay. Perhaps Simpsol can answer or Profiler, if he was here. :(

Okay I was able to get the information from Profiler.

He indicated the following:

Hkdominante, if you presently have a work permit, it's possible you have implied worker status but please tell us more about the work permit you currently have so we can give you a definitive answer.

Against my better judgement, I will post the answer. Profiler isn't anymore. Everyone can direct questions to canuck_in_uk -- this seems to be his forum...

@Hkdominante: If the permit is in the CIC's mail room the day before your current permit expires, you have implied status -- means you can legally remain in Canada until they decide.

However, from: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/validity/implied.asp
"
A temporary resident must apply to extend their period of authorized stay before it ends. If they have done so, their period of authorized stay as a temporary resident is extended by law until a decision is made [R183(5)]. Such a person is considered to have implied status as a temporary resident during that period.

If a temporary resident applies for renewal of their work or study permit and their permit expires before a decision is made, paragraph 186(u) and section 189 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) (the right to continue working or studying under the same conditions pending a determination of their application for renewal) apply only as long as the person remains in Canada.
"

Meaning you can keep working, as long as you remain in Canada (in most circumstances).

Letters are not required to be notarized....but some do obtain 1 or 2 notarized to show genunity of the letter.

Like Simpsol said, they do not. We sent support letters that were not notarized.

We got medical request yesterday. called today and the call center claimed they dont have the medical results on file. We had the medical completed in In January 2016 and submitted it with the original application.
We decided not to argue this and week after next we are redoing the medical. another few hundred $$$ down the drain...
