@Kindness101 the way our laywer did it is she set it up and put his uci and my uci together so I use my uci birthdate where I am born and I can get his info and it tells me what's going and plus I do from time to time check up or I call cic myself. I suggest you do is ask her what going on and for your uci what is her name my husband lawyer name is arlete campion she is in lakeshore or etbicoke and what your lawyer name

Thank you for this information. I didn't know I have a separate uci. I actually have never called the cic before. I called today but since it's Boxing Day they are closed. Also his lawyer is Connie I forget her last name, I asked her and she told me to just wait. That it's better when you don't get too many requests from cic means everything is going smoothly...

they will do a lot of investigation and maybe an interview maybe required

I thought so. I hope they don't deny his sponsorship cuz we have a 1.5 year old daughter and 1 on its way. Otherwise, we all move to Europe France. :o haha

Hey guys!!!! How's it going? Good news! I just received my Open Work Permit today in the mail!!!!
Just so you all know:
Application Sent: Aug 29th, 2016
CIC Received: Aug 30th, 2016
Student Visa Expired: Sept 30th, 2016
I didn't renew anything (from what I've read, as long as I applied a new status before my visa expires, it will become implied status)
NO AOR, no emails from CIC at all
Open Work Permit Issued: Dec 20, 2016

It also says TRV retained :-)

Happy Boxing Day! Grin

congratulations lady

Before Monday July 27, 2015 is what the message says today... that said, June is a perfect time for a landing party, don't you think Maria? We expect another occupation this year, so we can make it a big bash...

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Wishing everyone a prosperous 2017 filled with speedy and positive processing of our applications. Can you believe that we will be old school 2016-ers when the 2017 newbies start processing?

Still patiently waiting for the day we open our My CICs and see what we have all been waiting for.

Pool party! :P

Sadly, no pool at Casa Profiler.

But that doesn't perclude a trip... because we are looking at another occupation, and there may be more of a occupying force this time (the father-in-law may come, as his debut trip outside of the FSU states; first international passport even), the extended fam was thinking of a trip to Canada's east... NB and NS are likely target zones. I even heard my mother-in-law has been studying english to hone her skills..

Could we consider this a week long party...or is that faux-pas do you think??

Does anyone else have landing party plans? I'm interested to hear what others would do..

Hey Profiler, your family sounds so much more fun than mine! When my husband gets his landing, he is planning to get a travel document and he taking his party into a mini world tour. Few countries in Europe including "France & Swiss" (terrorist zone), Spain...then down to Malaysia, Indonesia than India...than US. As I sit at home with my children... :( :( :(

Well, that's no fun. It's not a party unless your whole family is involved, right?? Is that a business trip?

My family is pretty boring. But the in-laws have only limited (if any) experience in the west. Last time the mother-in-law was here, I felt the need to undo some soviet propaganda -- so we brought her as close to NY State as we could (literally we were on a boat deck, in NY State). So it will be hard to out-do that trip. Because we are probably looking at a summer-time landing, we were thinking what's the best way to mark that...

just sit tight and wait

hi there. has anyone applied for a visa while waiting for PR? i might have to make a few business trips in 2017 and my current work visa expires in May 2017 (same date with my previous work permit). I have received my open work permit but of course it does not allow re-entry. i believe i could just apply online. anyone with experience ? thanks in advance.

So apparently ATIP decided to pull our record October 21 and send it an hour ago... an interesting read...

Frustratingly enough, Yes they have started things like: Criminality (which started months ago (may) and was returned NRT within 7 days; yet still remains "In progress"), I am guessing security (all the pages discussing security are blanked out and "s.21" at the top right corner); but they have yet to even assess the information we have submitted to them. Our case is in "Inland pending review". No officers notes on the file. Just when we call the call centre or have put a CSE in.

Interesting that the medical officer in New Delhi was who approved her medical though...
