Sigh. We submitted a police certificate upfront, and just found out that not only did they never scan it in but they sent a request for a new one in August, which we obviously never even received. Now I have to wait another 4 months for a new police certificate. What is the point of submitting things up front if they are just going to lose them...

From the US. I read that there are third party places that can do it quicker so I'm gonna see if there are any nearby that we can get to. What does putting a trace on it mean?

I love how their emails say you have 60 days to respond to their request and if you don't then they can terminate your application. But they have no way to trace whether they even sent you a request for the information, but it's still your fault that you don't receive it. What a system!

Ouch. It's things like this that make me obsessive about scanning things to PDF for my own backup.

I do this for EVERYTHING I send CIC. I also send them a CSE + original via courier (forcing them to acknowledge both). Then it becomes a 'them' problem.

As for losing the PCC, on August 10 we demanded they perform a trace on the document we submitted. The call centre did tell us they located the original PCC (and thanked us for updating the original).

I just checked the spreadsheet and it seems like they are just finishing up summer 2015 applicants and some october 2015 ones so that is a good sign. Doesn't seem like any of the 2016 applicants received anything other than OWP.

From what i have noticed by looking at the individual sheets the processing times have somewhat lessened.I am fine waiting for a month or more..as long as they approve me as a sponsor.
When I was working on the application the immigration specialist at my MP's office told me that thing would be quicker if I also paid the PR right away. Is that true? Well, we decided to wait until approval.

not sure what your original question was asking, if you meant "a month" to get sponsor approval, it has been way longer than that for most, over a year for most it seems, hopefully that is changing now, our application was received going on 9 months now and last status still not even started the sponsor approval part and that is the first step they need to do I think

hoping things get moving finally for all of us that have been waiting, many over a year now

Did you receive the request on August 10th? That was the exact same day we "received" the PCC request as well. I guess they send them out in batches.

I am really hating myself for not making a photocopy of the PCC, we just sent in the original as soon as it came in. I guess we have no way to prove we included it in the application.

You'll find that many here can answer most questions. The problem is competing opinions. So you'll need to take each with a grain. Otherwise, this forum is capable of getting most people and cases past the finish line. Only major issues should require a lawyer...

Us as in applicants.. I was joking.

Competing opinions I would not consider as seriously as people's experiences.. Then again, every case is unique. You sure seem to have acquired quite a bit of knowledge and it is nice that you are sharing it with us..

I was referring to checking our status on their website which I was not able to do! I looked at the spreadsheet as well and was surprised how far behind they were.Although I have seen some applicants that got their SA within 3 months..I can very well imagine how frustrated you must be.I am also hoping it will change
soon.I think they were backlogged and just catching up now..

ah ok, the CIC websites actually tend to add to our frustrations, nothing like checking your status on the site every 2nd day for the last 8 months and it never changes (actually until last week when it actually changed for once, they took off a couple of lines of information! lol)

I would honestly like to just ignore all of it and just sit tight and wait for the email saying the PR is approved and finished or something, but that seems impossible to sit tight when you hear horror stories of people not getting mail or missing important calls, etc.... I requested the gcms notes a month or so ago which came, and were honestly pretty much a waste of effort

at least we got the OWP, that took almost 4 months but all of the sudden just arrived, we had tried to find out info online and even called the call centre on it but there was zero information anywhere until it just magically showed up in the mail.... so I think maybe the same will be the case with PR, we won't hear anything or be able to find out anything really useful until it magically shows up approved all of the sudden some day

I have almost forgot whole application after got OWP and got back to work.. But started today to think about it. How long it usually takes to get SA or some other step after AOR? I sent my application end of April and got OWP 4 months later, but haven't heard anything from CIC since then. Should I be worried? Mycic shows only they're doing security but nothing else.

I wouldn't worry, there are many people waiting many more months longer than that with no progress at all

Thank you! Wow, that is unnerving for sure.. I am more or less a worrier but I will think positive and won't imagine all kinds of awful scenarios ( which I am great at doing). We need to sit back and relax, as hard as it is..
I would send any mail to them with a tracking number or courier, then you know for sure if they received it or not..With regards to checking your status I know that your local MP can check it for you and they have to release that info.

What I noticed on my AOR is that they addressed me by my old surname.. What on earth?? i have been married for 4 1/2 years and I filled out everything with my correct name..Sigh..
