With all due respect, Carol, I disagree with this thought. Sure the total time might be 12 or more months now. HOWEVER, if you are close to 12, then you are pretty close to completing the process IMHO.

Plus, I would ask you this:
Can he work? Has he been asked to leave Canada? Did he apply for health care (if not, did you try???)?

My view here: They found a problem. They solved it. They are not Time Lords like Dr Who, and they cannot go back in time. Therefore, STARTING DECEMBER 7, you will not wait more than a year. Considering they cannot go back and change things, I say that's a fair deal. You'll come out on the other side of the queue in no time. So, forget about when you put your application in, and just enjoy the process. If you cannot, then your application will still come out in order that you put it in (compared to others).

I don't think they would delay previous applications in favor of new ones, it would be a PR nightmare, as a forum like this is on top of the situation and it would become obvious very quickly

so, like Profiler says, it only makes sense that they just set the maximum at 12 months, but logically in order to make it 12 months for the brand new applications, they are going to have to clear out the previous applications significantly sooner than that, otherwise if everyone is 12 months from now they will have an insane December 2017.... logically, we will probably see a whole bunch get cleared up before the middle of the year I am expecting, anything else doesn't make sense ..... hopefully sooner even, it is to their benefit to start pouring out approvals every month from now on

Your so right profiler he has a right to work here in Canada ,next year i make sure he applies Ohip and he has not been asked to leave Canada I should not complain we are almost there 12 to 14 months to go thanks for slapping some sense into me

@profiler Your right my husband has not been kicked out of canada,he can work in Canada, next year I make sure he applies for OHIP next year plus he works 10 to 11 hours a day sometimes Saturday and your right 12 to 14 months for him to go. Everything takes time thanks profiler.

I didn't read a joke there -- but hell, I have read lots of negative things about this new timeline since they announced it -- so maybe I missed the humour. If so, my bad. My points were: he got to stay with you, to work, and if he's working he can have OHIP. Little consolation, but that's what we expected when we signed up for inland, right?

Try not to sweat it. It may feel like a crap deal for some, especially those in the process for some time already. However, they are processing cases as they came in now. Meaning they will finish up July, then move onto the end of 2015 in short order.

See, they made a target of December 2017 for all backlogged cases. It isn't sustainable to continue to process backlog and new cases concurrently. Perhaps for a short time you could, but you'd just be building up a new backlog of the newer cases. So, my belief is, they will be coming out in short order (quickly) from the 2015-2016 backlogs. If they process those cases fast, then they have a real chance at maintaining the 12 month target they set for themselves..

If not, well, what was the point? Right?

You have to tell them, otherwise the case would result in misrepresentation. That said, they repealed condition 51.

We are new to this forum. We sent in our app on November 24 and it was received on Nov. 25. Today we received an AOR giving us a UCI. When I tried to check our case I was not able to access it, just like another member mentioned in a previous post. Looks like it is common...

Also how long after you receive an AOR do you receive notice for sponsorship approval?

We are new to this forum. We sent in our app on November 24 and it was received on Nov. 25. Today we received an AOR giving us a UCI. When I tried to check our case I was not able to access it, just like another member mentioned in a previous post. Looks like it is common...
