There is only like 19,000 spots left from the last mathing I did. and they are clearing ~4500/mnth right now. So, we will see what shakes down in the next two months. Just be prepared to land like, the next day. Which has happened (most people in this exercise are landing within a week).

If not, well, 2025 isn't that far away, right?

I don't know, 9 years is a long time. I'm sure some of us will be on our second or third spouses by then!

I'm still confused a little, I notice you using the term "land" often, what does this mean exactly, since we are inland applicants in this thread? does it mean to actually have an appointment to go in for final interview or something?

Not this guy.... But in all fairness, we are waiting for either landing or at least AIP to start (expand) our family. 9 years would destroy that possibility...

So, I kid, but it's really not funny.

Any case, I will be interested to see what happens in the next two months. I think they have already identified the cases they plan to clear before years' end, and they are going to churn those out as fast as possible.... If not this year, they plan to maintain the momentum for next year, so it could be just in the new year. Either case, I would do that medical...

Landing is where they finalize the PR. It is an interview. Until that landing interview, the applicant is just a temporary resident.

cool, that will be a very emotional interview I expect, nervousness going in and hopefully elation going out, unless they leave you in suspense after the interview...

It's like, impossible to fail. They ask a couple (3 typically) questions to validate that the material facts in the application are still correct (criminal convictions in Canada, any undeclared dependants, etc), then they welcome the PR to Canada, and talk about (usually) the path to citizenship.

Hi,

I am the sponsor, and when we kept our inland file to sponsor my husband i didnt change my surname because all of my documents including the PR CARD and passport ,were in my name maiden surname. So do you think would that matter?

Shouldn't be an issue to use your maiden or married name. The government of Canada knows both (as you had to assume the married name at some point, and you would have to state you were also known as your maiden name). So, they know who it is.
