One cannot even enter Canada at all with a DUI within the last 10 years.

Unless they are a Canadian Citizen :).

It can be pardoned and admissibility can be corrected. But it takes work...

You mean...blemishes? ;)

They will look for any criminality that equates to Canadian laws... Eg: people have had app's rejected because of DUI's. The Security portion is "Top Secret" (terrorism, extremism, anything that might cause strife in Canadian society).

EDIT: The NSA doesn't have to be called. They have employees and trainee's desked at CSE in Ottawa...

So US NSA employees are desked and working in Canada? They can't look into cell phone records or anything can they? Coming from the states, you start to get that 'big brother' mentality ???

Do you know what CSE is? Ask Eddie Snowden... he told the world about what goes on in there... Canada has always been a leader in telecommunications tech.... And the NSA *does* train in there... 2,000 seats they staff ... They intercept calls / Radio / Satellite for the USSR (now the CIS and eastern europe)/ South America.

You do the math.. Do a quick google search on the Five Eyes ;)

If you want a frustration....CIC runs searches against the US when applications are initiated anyway... *all* applications.

This is great news especially with your out-of-status situation when you applied. Hopefully that provides some clarity to some of the silent members on this board who might be in the same situation.

Actually I couldn't find anywhere on the CIC website stated that you hafta be in status at the date when you applied. All they say is that you gotta have valid status (and my logic said that by the time your app is being processed, not received).

And yeah, I hope it helps anyone out there who might be in the same situation. One advice: don't spend your money on a second app; now I gotta ask for refunds...

Indeed you are! Never gonna trust call centre agents again. In Profiler we trust!

The same CPC (Vegreville) does ROS and work / study permits. They already knew you'd applied to correct status. They were just waiting (I expected waiting or a message to ask you to pay to restore... > 90days I think they would enforce the AIP rule..

But... at this point... who cares? Millionaire Marie_Mirabela can now be a mall Santa!

I'll have to start planning my trips... fat man-boy incoming! :D

FYI CPC Vegreville is being shut down and moved to Edmonton. I don't expect much productive work to be coming out of this case processing center. It's basically the only thing the town has.
