You don't technically have to do anything until the child is born. If you haven't done the medical yet, you should obviously inform the doctor when you do so that you can skip the x-ray part. After the child is born you would need to submit a new Family Information Form (IMM5707).
Also, congrats.

If I got this right, the wife is the sponsor. To my knowledge, the sponsor doesn't need any medicals to be done, just the applicant.
So I would say just submit the Family Information Form after the child is born via CSE.

hi everyone

can anyone help me about this.
i submitted my wife application last july 2016 (spouse sponsorship)
received the SA, AOG2 last august 2016
Medical is done september 2016 (upfront)

but then this morning they sent me a letter to provide MEDICAL, NBI Personal History evidences of marriage etc. i already submitted all of this last july this are all required in the 1st step right? the documents you need to submit before they approve if eligible for sponsoring

and then after 12 hours they sent me a letter again that they confirm receipt of your email to the Manila Visa Office.

?

i'm really confused! anybody has experience this kind of situation? what do you guy's think?

Just to be clear, are you applying inland or outland? Because it seems Outland to me by the timeline you provided...

What was the date of your submission? Sorry I am lazy, but I am under strict orders to no longer date math on Weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.

EDIT: August 11 2016..... sooo... You might land any day between...

June 11, 2018. Baby will be before July 28 2017 (assuming the pregnancy happened today).

You *might* be processed by then, but I don't think it will be too likely (you're soo early into your process that it's hard to say...)

I feel like it says that for all of us. Has been at least 4 months for me so far.

Ours started sometime in June. Being from the US, CSIS *could* just pick the phone up and call (CIA | NSA) to ask if you're trouble or not.... We know that there is a pretty tight integration between intel and law enforcement agencies in North America...

That said, it can last upto 16 weeks as they rely on external agencies...

Ah how frustrating! I am pretty young still, not a blemish on my record. I've never gotten so much as a speeding ticket! I wish they'd just call so it would go faster ;) Any idea what they even look for? Obviously dangerous crimes, convictions, terrorism ties, but what about little stuff?

You mean...blemishes? ;)

They will look for any criminality that equates to Canadian laws... Eg: people have had app's rejected because of DUI's. The Security portion is "Top Secret" (terrorism, extremism, anything that might cause strife in Canadian society).

EDIT: The NSA doesn't have to be called. They have employees and trainee's desked at CSE in Ottawa...

One cannot even enter Canada at all with a DUI within the last 10 years.
