Congrats!

Don't forget to take your OWP and your passport to Service Canada to get a Temporary SIN (it will start with a 9).

To your other question: I am in Ontario, so I cannot say for sure. I do know that here there is two ways PR applicants can get OHIP:
- OWP + employers letter (on company letterhead) stating that they plan to employ that person for 6 months or more (IN BLACK INK!); or
- AIP letter.

My PR background check started exactly a week after yours. So based on that, I hope for some good news in a week or so (fingers, legs and any other limbs crossed) .

Approval in principle (AIP)
Your application is “approved in principle (AIP)” if:
- you have received a letter from IRCC stating that you meet the permanent residence eligibility requirements, but
- you still have to pass the medical, security and background checks for you and, if needed, your family members

EDIT:
It looks like that:
"This letter acknowledges receipt of your application for permanent resident status in Canada.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final
decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident
have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you
and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not
applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you
and all your family members have met these requirements. "

I have a question:

On the forms, it says we need to provide an indication of status in Canada such as a visitor visa etc. But my husband comes from a visa exempt country-- will providing an explanation and a copy of his recent entry to Canada stamp be sufficient enough?

I guess so. Even if he is from a visa-extempt country, he is still a visitor here. Don;t forget to provide a copy of his most recent entry - passport stamp!

His status is visitor unless he is a student or has a work permit...

For completion of a TRV application, if sponsorship application is in progress and OWP has been received is should person select "worker" or "other" and write "sponsorship application and OWP"?

Neither as the person has either implied status or an OWP (worker status)...

The person should relax and buy their awesome wife presents :D

LOL. I get you, I will talk to my husband and persuade him that he does not need it and I need more presents.

I can't wait until we get SA and AIP. (sigh)

@Maria_Mirabela my husband medical was good because on e case when line 3 says medical results received its good. you can ask we did not our lawyer got them last year she said it's good

Detatch from CIC... there is nothing more they can do. They have legal status, and they don't need to worry .. I know I am guilty of that too.

Presents and support are required as his wife has worked hard to maintain his best interests..

@browning911: you can share with that person that profiler says they shouldn't apply for a TRV when they already have one.
