Hi guys,

Do you have any sense on when one would get the work permit if applied for both (common law sponsorship and the related work permit) at the end of July?

Cheers

For you, probably December.. 4 months from when they acknowledged your application..

Hi profiler.
Have you any idea when January applicants will have CORP?

Unfortunately my crystal ball is in for repairs ;).

Just joking..

There is really no way to tell... some in the 2016 cohort are seeing landings -- some before our March 2 application, some after.

The only rhyme/reason I can put to timings for 2015/2016 right now is from the SIR operational bulletin: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2016/ob624.asp 2 File Management. They are grouping files into stacks and assigning targets for completion. Obviously based on straightforwardness, completeness, and how fast applicants respond to doc requests...

Sorry that's the best I can do!

This is super weird, we requested ATIP and choose officers notes, through email and paid $5?? Did we request the wrong information???

You're ok. Same information, just a different channel. You could have got them for free though.

Did you get a PCC or medical request?

i hope we can get an update regarding our PCC second request right after thanks giving (end of 60 days).

Hey pedropil, gang;

I was looking at the spreadsheet today. From what information is available (I will be the first to suggest it's not totally accurate or complete) it appears that within 4 months of the PCC and/or Medical request being issued is when people are landing.

In our case, they requested the PCC on August 10, and they accepted the Medical (which would expire on Oct 30) last week.

From what I recall reading (I am a pretty old fart now, so my brain may not be as good as it used to be) Medical and PCC cannot expire before they issue COPR. Now, I am not suggesting at all that CIC is operating by any kind of norms at this time, as we all know they are churning through inland cases at a reasonably fast pace. HOWEVER they stated they are trying to pay attention to Medicals and PCC's expiring to help reduce cost for applicants. Along that vein, if you look at the cases where a PCC request was made on or after June 13, there is empirical evidence showing the COPR and Landing was issued within 4 months of that day.

With this in mind, I would be interested to see who/when people land to see if that is at all correct, or if my crystal ball needs more tweaking...

@Profiler is that not a good thing, because they know the medicals can be expensive and the pcc getting it from your country can be expensive. Oh I seen a story on MSN canada where a woman will get her refugee status stripped . Here is the story http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/woman-stripped-of-refugee-status-after-questions-raised-over-identity/ar-BBxhgZS?li=AAggNb9 but i was reading into it seems fishie

Yes of course it's a great thing -- It could possibly mean that some will land by Christmas! We paid 1/3 here for a medical compared to what they were offering in Moscow..

You bet buddy.

If you look at the evidence contained in the spreadsheet (and assuming errors) we should be landing before Christmas, and polarvolcano should be in the next wave; barring redirection to a local VO for interview etc. Of course, you have to accept that people have left us behind, so all the evidence might not be there -- but about 95% of those who got the PCC request, and sent it in according to instructions, have landed already... I hope my crystal ball is correct for everyone!

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

I just checked My GC Key and it now shows:

A Background Check is needed In Progress

When I logged on it said Status Updated and then it showed that. It was not like this yesterday.

BTW, I know someone posted on the forum a guesstimate on how long it takes but I tried searching and cannot located the thread.

Profiler, could you please send the link again where CIC explains the sponsorship application process. I remember you posted it last week (Thanks again!) and I was reading if but forgot to add to my favourites.

Thanks everyone for your posts. You all definitely make the waiting process easier.

Yep, coming up on 4 months since the PCC request. I will let you know if there is any movement.

Hi Guys, need a small help.
Do you guys know changing address (same city but different address), delays the application to a significant level? I am contemplating on changing the address or not (It will help monetarily)

Thanks
Sam
