Sorry, didn't realize you were the expert after filing a total of one ATIP request.

My main point was that you don't need that consent form to ask for information about yourself. Would you like me to forward you my GCMS notes so you can see for yourself?
I'm sorry? I didn't see the word expert anywhere in what I wrote? Could you show me where that was? And actually it's been two now... but I'm confused why you're counting... I totally defer to your expertise, of course..

I didn't imply or infer they'd need a consent for their own info. Could you show me where I did?

OP is better to ask for both sponsorship and PR application notes. This gives to total view of the application components. To do so, you'd need a consent.

I'm currently out of status (applied for restoration) and I send my request for notes last month. Just in case, to see what happends. I thought that maybe I can qualify under "living in Canada" condition and there was no fee to be paid so no harm trying. I'll let you know how that goes when/if I receive my notes mid to late October .
I'm not convinced they check that deeply. However it takes 30 days to hear on a failed attempt. So no harm in trying, but if it fails, just put in an atip.

Cool. Let's see how that goes. I feel like we have all been on this forum for a while but my notes didn't have much movement aside from the fact that all of the correspondence with CIC has been recorded and the info on my file is up to date.
It did have that SIR code and nice bold letters telling me that my application has been selected for the backlog reduction program so that is a good sign. However, still sitting here without AIP or anything. My notes took 31 days to arrive via email.
Actually one of my major question marks is whether they apply the backlog reduction thing only to apps received prior to June 13, or they run it to all of the straightforward apps. Anyhow, the term "backlog" makes me think they don't but who knows...

From what I read on the SIR, they are refining the inland process. Of course, take that with a grain as they make many claims and they don't seem to come to fruition. But the intent was to target, in groups, the current inventory (as of June 13). That's why some got PCC's in June, some got them in August, etc. They are working on the groups to push them through.

That said, it's entirely possible that your case may actually benefit from the SIR, because they can apply what they have learned from Syrian sponsored families, and from the SIR. When did you apply again?

Judging by MY shoes collection and all the crap in the bathroom they might end up thinking my husband is the one not living here :) :) :)
As you said, just a razor, deodorant and shower gel ( not even that, cause I convinced him to get some oatmeal organic one)... :p
Exactly. That or they might think he (and I) have a dark hobby that they were unaware of..

I do wonder where that happened. We are about an hour outside of Toronto, and there is a local CIC office here... do they target applicants/PR's close to home?

You think they wanna save gas money?! Haha.
We're in Toronto, so just around the corner of Mississauga office. I'll let you know if they drop by.

You can use the work permit with any employer, that's why it's called open. Except for some cases where you cannot work in health related areas ( it should say on the paper, I guess).
Thanks Mirabela for the insight, thats is what i thought so. And yes, Im hoping that the CIC granted me an OWP with no exception for healthcare jobs because I am vying to have my license here as an OT.

Luckily, my OWP have to wait up until thanksgiving is over! Happy thanksgiving everone!

Well no, I mean is it more likely for those local as opposed to those in the trees in the Yukon.. bit yeah they might as well save the gas too! Otherwise it would be a rogue band of officers, right?

Likewise if the feds from the Kitchener office shows up.. and I'll let you know if they enjoy the cafe food and drink too! ;)

My friends and inlaws are from Kitchener (husband's hometown). That's where we got married. Awww this brings back sweet memories...

I had no idea they have an office there.

You talk about that consent form all the time. Everyone on here has the ability to apply for themselves and thus avoid that form. The sponsor can apply for their own notes no matter where they are. There isn't a special set of notes that you get by having that consent form. You'd use that form if your relative or friend was stuck outside of Canada and wanted to see their info. Or if you wanted a lawyer to handle your case.

Heh.. couldn't find them I guess?

Consent allows one person to apply for all the notes... useful when your spouse has decided that the sponsor should manage the application. Wow! A legitimate use of consent! And no lawyer! Who knew!

They also redact personal info that may be relevant without it!

I don't think the wording in the notes said 'backlog' specifically. Let me check again and get back to you. I understand what you are getting at.

This is such a boring argument. If you think it is more convenient to print and sign and scan a form instead of just having your wife input her info into a few boxes in an online form, then I guess there is not much else to say except that you enjoy signing forms. I mean, I assume she would forward you the notes when they send them to her.
