I am now speaking to to CIC representative and she is so nice. :D She indicated that everything looks fine and for now they have all the documents that they need. We are currently not in the stream for clearing backlog right now and if this changes, we will be notified. :(

dont worry! once the system is unclogged everything should flow much faster. my guess that we all should done by the end of 2016. (I am from late January)
try to not to check the application status online every 5 hours (as i do :-\ )

cheers

Hi,

So I have just received the second AOR today. Should I be relieved now that my app is complete and there's nothing missing? I have read that the 2nd AOR stands for passing a completeness check too. Also, I noticed that a lot of people received this on the same date (most letters are issued on June 10 and June 29, as the spreadsheet says), so you think this comes in batches?

Thanks.

AOR2 != complete file (not necessarily)

We received AOR2 on June 10 (also a batch AOR, tons people here got it, it also says on my GCMS note that it's a batch AOR). Then I received an additional document request on June 28th.

If you want to see if any of your documents are missing, get a GCMS notes and look for "outstanding items"

Thanks a lot for the intel. Although I think it's too soon for me to ask for my GCMS notes; my app was sent last month, July 13th. I guess I should wait until September or so and then file a request.

I agree with you, your notes would have nothing of value, unlikely your file would have any work done on it.

It takes 30 days for IRC to action a request for GCMS notes. I'm a June applicant and I will be applying for my notes today...(by the time it gets here, 3 months will have passed from application date, hopefully some meat is on the bone at this time)

It's "SIR" program which stands for "spouse inventory reduction" exercise.........

I don't think you need to worry about SIR code at all, everybody is on this program basically but SIR code doesn't necessarily show up on your file.....

Don't want to pick bones with you Nick, but just checking, by that comment do you mean everyone who has an application date with CIC prior to June 13th 2016? The operational bulletin stated that was the cut-off to be included in the reduction excercise.

I made it in (hopefully) by the skin of my teeth (3rd June).

I send a cover letter via CSI asking them to process my OWP app after I will have the AIP, as I am currently out of status. Have you heard about any cases when the CSI additional info helped anyone (I'm not talking about requested documents, those would obviously be reviewed)? I'm asking because you really make a lot of sense in your assessments and I could use your advice.

Fingers crossed for a very smooth and fast process with your PR! I really do believe they have speeded up everything this year, comparing to 2015 or 2014.

Did any May applicants (1st week of may) received any updates on their work permit or for that matter work permit itself?

Hi Preet. OWP takes roughly 4 to 5 months. Some people get it before but that time. I know I was checking every day for it and suddenly I saw that it was approved in My CIC account then I received the work permit in the mail the next week. Ours took 110 days.

Thanks Browning911. However, the main page status still show "Application Received" and not "In Process". When i click on "Application Received" it shows 2 lines that's it !!! Any idea what will be the third line ?

Requesting the officers electronic notes through the privacy act can help...take for example an officer notes down that proof of relationship is lacking...you see this in the GCMS notes..and compile more evidence, but instead of having say..20 days to do it (often a lot less)...you have much longer as IRCC has not even requested more evidence from you yet. Thus the evidence can be substantial (Notarized affidavits from friends and family etc), rather than whatever can be got and sent back prior to the deadline. I see it as playing poker and being able to see the opponents cards.

If you request it and everything is fine...well you sleep better at night, lets be honest. If not..well seeing the concerns let you act on those well before they ask you too.

As a rule of thumb I am planning to apply every 3 months for my notes.

Preet, if you are talking about checking the application status: what I read was that the sponsorship application part always will show in process and with regard to the Permanent Resident application, I am not sure if it changes once Sponsorship approval has been given. Maybe someone who already has sponsorship approval can answer this part.

I prefer to check MyCIC since that is where it should that the medical had been passed.
