No, its the first time I got AIP. Are there 2 AIPs?
And what are the next steps after this?
We sent our app in Mar 21 2016 and we already received Sponsor aip (me) and applicant aip (husband)
which had the same message you've quoted also stating to apply for OWP if we had not done so already.
Next would be medical for you if you have not done so already but they will request it so don't worry, and they will be doing the background check.
Seeing as my husband was requested for and has already gone for his medical it looks like things are moving quickly. Have you taken a look at the spreadsheet or added yourself to it?
It's very handy to see comparisons.

Hi friends
I got an email saying:
"It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements. "

Is this AIP? Do I need to respond anything? The subject says: Inland APR Eligibility decision
And what would be the next steps?
Thanks for the help!

Congrats!

what is your time line? when did you receive this AIP letter?

1-3 months and you will be PR!

Hi I know the profile looks strange, but this is Canadian Alien, I got a virus over the weekend and had to wipe my drives and re-install, so lost my always log-in for this site, couldn't remember the password, hadn't used it in so long...OR the gmail email address I used to create the account (throwaway one, for junk mails).

So had to create a totally new account...such is life.

My application was received on Feb 15,2016. Till now I have got 2 AORs. This AIP I got on Aug 4. My OWP came this month(took more than 5 months, coz they forgot to create a file for my application :(, but glad its finally here.)
Is there an AIP for the sponsor too?

That's great. I think March onwards applications are pretty fast. Mine was Feb 15.
Haven't added to spreadsheet. Will do so.

Hello,

I was able to connect my work permit application with my cic account. It shows submitted under details. Not sure what does it implies. Can anyone share their thoughts?

I called cic and they say my application is under process and no further documents are required at this time.

Your reply would be really helpful.

Hi guys,

I would really use your advice in the following matter:

I send my app for PR together with an OWP app to Mississauga office on July 13, got my AOR on August 5th. I was on a tourist visa that expired June 19th, so at that time when my app was filed I have been out of status for about 20 days. After receiving the AOR in my husband's e-mail (meaning there were no documents or signatures missing) I send a letter today via CSI asking for my OWP to be processed AFTER I would receive AIP for my PR, because else I would be denied for "out of status". I've been explaining in my letter that I am fully aware of my situation and it was my choice to do so, because the PR app is my top priority, not my OWP and in order to have a complete and correct file I had to wait for my marriage certificate to be issued first. I also stated that I was writing in good faith and I wanted to provide CIC all the info they would need to make the right decisions in my case.

*sidenote* I know I am eligible to apply for restoration of status but I truly believe they will reject my request because I no longer meet the criteria for a tourist visa. I had to quit my job in my home country and spend almost all of my savings to relocate here so there's a high chance they will deny me restoration.

I tried to link the app to myCIC today and it worked, but except for my PR app the system found another one that has been linked to my account with a number starting with W followed by 9 digits, app type: online app, status: open. Do you have any idea if this is the case inquiry that had been linked to my account?

Any advice on the course of my actions? I used no lawyer for my apps and I really have no one to consult with. I believe my app is pretty clear as my husband and I we are about the same age, religion, we share a similar background as he had been living in Europe for the past 9 years and we submitted tons of paper as proof of relationship.

Sorry for writing so much but as I said I don't know where else to search for advice and I am really doubting myself here, even though I am normally a very rational person with a clear mind...

MM
The W number is your work permit application. I know nothing about visitor visa & restoration of status etc sorry.

This means your OWP application is in process. Once a decision has been made it will show "approved" and then you will receive the actual work permit in the mail. When you receive it you can apply for a social insurance number [SIN] (at Service Canada). If you go in you will get the SIN right away. Then you can start applying for jobs. When you get a job you have to give your employer a copy of the work permit and your SIN number.

Best of luck!

phoned the CIC helpline today...only took 17 attempts spaced over 3 hours from 8am to get beyond the automated system and after a 34 minute wait speak to an agent. All I wanted was to find out if I'm in the pool for speedier processing (i'e look for the SAR program code on my notes)...the agent wouldn't even open my file. Refused point blank, you will get processed when you get processed was her answer. 3 hours for a 4 minute conversation...

What can you do?

I'll schedule another 3 hours trying to get through for later in the month...sucker for punishment.

No, going on the spreadsheet etc...should be end of Sept if I'm really lucky, or mid to late October if I'm not (Realistically the second option is more likely).

June 3rd applicant

once I get beyond 10 posts I will put all my AOR's etc back up on my profile
