Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hi all,

I have a few questions:
1. I am currently in the express entry system with no luck so far, and i am getting married this year. Should I remove my EE profile and only work on the sponsorship that my fiance will do, or can i keep both profiles?

2. Will they cause issues if i do not wish to get my name changed?

3. What is the current wait times to get paperwork ready and in order to send to CIC?

4. I got police clearances done for a few countries. Can i open them and read what they say? or is it confidential?

I have no idea how long express entry takes or if you can keep both profiles.

Can't imagine not changing your name would make any difference.

Wait time to get paperwork ready depends on how much information you already have on hand. It's taking about 4 months to get your work permit approved through Inland Sponsorship. They are speeding up the whole process to clear the backlog at the moment but you can't be sure how long it is going to take to get PR. I was working on 10 months from app to landing in my head so if it's quicker I'll be happy. You can apply Outland, which is a quicker process, even if you live in Canada but Outland does not allow for an OWP.

Can't imagine that police clearance is that confidential or they would have to be sent direct to CIC.

That's my take on it anyway. Sorry can't be of more help.

Did you submitted your 5406 form in your native language too?

No. We filled out all the forms in English to avoid complications.

zumbagirl: Just adding some info to dead thread and wanted to join, i applied PR for my spouse on 6th June and got first AOR 1 on 26th June. Looks CIC is doing their job fast now after Justin trudeau gvt is elected and their manifesto promise about immigrations. Hope all of us gets our OWP, and PR asap.

Hi guys, does anyone know how long it takes to get First AOR ? I submitted on June 1 and came on June 3 , i saw someone already got their AOR for same time as me , thankss

Bennie, I'm the 3rd of June applicant..mine came on the 23rd...just because it hasn't come don't worry...some never get an AOR1, and first contact is issue of the OWP etc. If you are really worried, get the sponsor (waste of time the other party phoning at this stage) to phone CIC helpline and ask whats going on.

Sent in OWP and PR Inland - Nov 24 2015
Canada Post Tracking signature by CPC-M - Nov 27 2015
OWP - Received April 21st
AOR - Received June 29th

Now the fun starts ...
