Excuse me, I think this question may not be related with this topic, but.. want to get some ideas.

My parents are coming to visit me. Can they bring my personal belongings here? Would the customs charge them taxes? Do anyone got experience about it?

Thanks!

There are a lot of factors that goes into how fast your application get process. Geography - Kitchener and an awesome MP anyone?
Country of origin - Don't you think they would not be more alert from someone who is from or around ISIS countries than those say, are from USA, UK or France?
Background - Yes yes, everyone is equal, but face it. is it really? Based on history and past case, don't you think they would keep a keen eye on people are say of Chinese or country around there more due to fake marriages?
But whatever the reason is, I am sure as hell glad they took their time to do their job instead of feeling empathy and rushing things through.

I survived on a single income. My wife just gave birth and I had to pay full price for hospital's bill, all the pediatric appointment, and vitamins. Oh, she has C-section so you can imagine the final bill. and you know how expensive it can be raising a child. Prior to that, she does visit a doctor on a few occasion and all without the help of OHIP. We survived, you will too. Just remember, not everyone is in the same case as you. Some maybe just need to wait, while others has more on table. So if you can't take it, find an empty room, vent it out, scream or do whatever. Don't hold it in and take it out on others.

STAY POSITIVE.
I just gave you your first +1 :)

SMH, some people. Why do people think immigration is a breeze and when they find out otherwise, feels it's right to take out their frustration on people who are only trying to help?

my 2 cents, I lurk in the forum but I have never seen profiler being insensitive to anyone. If anything, profiler has helped put many people more at ease with their application by sharing his knowledge and experience (aka antics) for FREE. remember some people would have had to pay several grands for advice that profiler were giving for free.

As for the person who complains about refugee jumping the borders, refugees may become accepted refugees within a year but they do not have PR status at that time. They have to apply for PR status like everyone else and go through a vetting process that take SEVERAL years. Meaning they can't pay domestic tuition, has to work under a work permit, etc. I have a friend who fled from Lebanon, became an accepted refugee and had to wait over 2 years before he was granted permanent residence.

Anyhoo, nothing new on my sister's case.... waiting to get a new passport..bleh~

If you are out of status, you cannot apply for OWP until AIP. You should probably send a CSE to inquire about the OWP maybe they will return the application or process after AIP.

Changes to Regulations Will See Age Increased for Dependent Child
News Release
From Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

May 3, 2017—Ottawa, ON – The Government of Canada has published regulatory changes to increase the maximum age of a dependent child which will allow more families to stay together. This change showcases the Government’s commitment to family reunification.

The new age limit of “under 22” will come into effect this fall, on October 24, 2017, raising it from the current “under 19” requirement. The increased age will apply to new applications for all immigration programs under Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, including for refugees. Children who are 22 years of age or older and who rely on their parents due to a physical or mental health condition will continue to be considered dependent children.

A higher age limit will have more positive social and cultural impacts by keeping families together. It will also better address humanitarian and safety concerns by enabling more family members of refugees to qualify as dependants. Increasing the age limit will also help to enhance Canada’s economy by making it a destination of choice for skilled immigrants who want to keep their families together.

Family reunification is a key immigration commitment of the Government of Canada. The Government has made a number of important changes to uphold this commitment. Regulations were recently published to eliminate the conditional permanent residence measure in recognition that most marriages are genuine and to reduce the vulnerability of spouses in the immigration program. Access to the parent and grandparent program was improved with changes to the 2017 application process to make it fairer and more transparent. In 2016, the number of parent and grandparent sponsorship applications accepted each year for intake was doubled to 10 000 applications, and the Government announced processing times for most sponsored spouses and partners would be reduced to 12 months.

If your OWP is expired and there is one in process you are under "implied status" so you can work.

Legolg just mentioned that someone from 30 March 2017 just got a positive response from IRCC so hopefully should be soon.

I never wanted him to leave. What I felted offended with was the fact of him saying that my question was baseless. I never said that my wife's PR had to be issued before everyone else who applied after us cause I know each case is different. My complaint was that there are lots of applications receiving SA and even landing at the same time that I get my GSMC notes and realize that my application was not even started yet. That's my point. My understanding is that for them to start looking at a given application, they have to have started all applications that were submitted before that one. Now once an application starts yes it can take different timelines to be finished.

He said that my statement was baseless. No it wasn't I have evidence of both people who have applied after me being processed while mine's not started yet and that from my standpoint is a hell of a base. Also he mentioned that the wait is not a problem saying his wife wakes up and goes to work everyday and they have a normal life. It's not like that for everyone. I really whish he told me how would he feel if his father in law passed for instance and his wife did not manage to attend the funeral due to the process.

Best of luck for everyone here

that is great cause Mr. carol had his son his non accompany dependent and had him on his application. mr carol ex wife wants him to finish high school and university in Portugal so we can sponsor him at 20 or 21 that good news
