He's 'Murikan... what's the issue with border traversal? Show ties to the US, sufficiently significant that he would "demonstrate" that he would return home, in the event his application failed. Thereby satisfying Dual Intent, and no issue?

Turns out that Canada and 'Murika are each other's chronic over-stayer #1's. Due to lax traversal policies (until Donnie stepped in... now you probably cannot cross into the USA anymore).

Hi everyone. I posted this question in the 2017 forum too, but maybe some of you guys can help me out with this!
My application was submitted March 27, 2017. Received emails from CIC, both me and my husband(sponsor) with our Application number as well as UCI numbers, was able to link the application to my CIC account...all on April 8, 2017. Still no requests for Schedule A or Police Checks, and I am just wondering if this is normal? Or if there are issues I should look into? My husband's ECAS says processing, mine just says application received. There are no messages on my CIC account. Any help/input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

I would guess that it's normal. It may take a little time for them to get to asking for it.

Thank you so much! I keep seeing that some of the other 2017 applicants already had the requests in their CIC when they linked their applications, so got me a bit worried.

I've seen 2016 applicants from May land, and my wife's case is still in process. Sometimes that's how the dice fall, unfortunately. Keep in mind, they send out an email blast that requested a PCC... many applicants sent them in, or called. It will cause chaos there. So, it just might take a few more days/weeks. No big deal...

I receivedd a message in mycic today and there seems to be an issue with the dates ii put down for my cohibitation. The officer doesn't think I've been with my common law partner for the required one year. Help. How do I prove this? What do I say? I'm shaking I'm so upset

The applicant must submit a Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union form [IMM 5409 (PDF, 636.51 KB)] and evidence of cohabitation for a period of at least 12 continuous months.
Copies of joint bank account statements;
Copies of leases; utility bills;
Insurance documents with you listed as contact/beneficiary;
Letters from persons who know you in a professional capacity for example, Doctor you both go to together (has address and contact information listed for you as same for the period of cohabitation required.

Know what's funny about their "Document requirements"? It states that you should provide emails/texts/proofs of communication. We sent 0.

I did not send any of that either but if they are requesting more, like the CICWhisperer said, give IRCC what they want so the process can be completed ASAP.

If they want to check my phone when I come to interview. They can go for it.

Sometimes, there is ways to subvert their requirements. Once you know what the objective is (what do they ultimately want you to prove), you can usually find ways to prove it.

One common thing I see, is people complaining about utilities. Well, do you share a family doctor? Wouldn't mail sent to the address in either name (and show a piece of mail or three for each) prove exactly the same?

See utilities come in my name so could not use utilities.

I do not share a Doctor but when we go to his Doctor we go together so I asked the Doctor write a letter and he did. He comes with me to my Doctor but I did not bother to ask her. If necessary, I will.

IMHO, in the eyes of CIC, with a married couple I think the burden of proof is less that of a common-law couple. We have the marriage certificate.
