Yeah, being in the presence of wizards with crystal balls will do that, every time.

All joking aside, I cannot say for sure, but AIP's from around your timeline are/have landing/landed

Yeah we aren't really worried. We had some pretty strong evidence. Our case is one that they could probably rubber stamp (no criminality, no security concerns, no financial concerns, no family concerns (we sent like 70 photos, lots of her interacting with my family; and all of my family individually wrote and notarized letters for us stating that our relationship was genuine, etc. One of those was from a doctor), she has travel history (including travel in Canada)).... really it's a pretty easy case..

I'm more worried that I have to work my butt off in school again to finish a PhD...

I just checked my notes and it says FCC-CDA

BUT

I know for a fact that I am out of status.

CAN I AND SHOULD I APPLY FOR MY WORK PERMIT THOUGH?! OMG I AM NOW FREAKING OUT THAT I COULD POSSIBLY GET IT NOW, BEFORE MY AIP.

I have a few questions about my notes, hopefully someone can explain.

App Status Reason: In Progress-SPR
Group Name: Inland Prospective
Group #: 1-628TNRW
Special Program: SIR
Special Program: 1
Primary: Yes
NOC: #### (What is that exactly? My occupation is listed as new worker. I have worked in Canada before though legally. Currently no work permit however due to loss of status)

Groups:1
Primary:Yes
Group #: 1-628TNRW
Name: Inland Prospective
Type: PR-Other
Other Type Description: Inland Prospective
Status: In Progress
Create Office: CIC Mississauga

Groups: 2
Has to do with batch notes for my schedule A and IMM 5406 E-Storage, so I'm assuming that means my background check. Status is in progress.
Application 1 & 2 status is open. Application 3 is prospective.

Also,in my payments,it says $550 paid but then in the fees,it says 2&3 but then nothing was paid in amount paid so I'm confused. If someone could try to explain all this a bit more, that'd be nice. I looked through the acronyms and still a bit confused, some weren't even answered.

@Profiler: While filling out the OWP form (did not submit with June 1 application) I saw mandatory fields asking for the name and address of the employer. Is is so mandatory to have an employer for OWP? I thought its open hence no employer needed to get the permit and I can have a parallel work permit along with my already existing study permit

Thanks

NOC is an occupation code (I am pretty sure, though I haven't searched to get the list of those).

Payments & Fees are held in escrow. They will deduct them from the payments when they have completed the task. You should REALLY consider paying the RPRF NOW (as you are SIR, you can avoid the extra wait time for them to tell you to pay it, then you paying it.... $490).

I will answer your question Re: AIP/OWP. Don't do it. It will just waste $255 for nothing (you will wait ~4mos to get the OWP, and you will be landing (probably) before Christmas). They are landing and bypassing SA/AIP/DM in many cases.

Are you sure you're not in SIR? If you are, they are going to try to land many before Christmas...

Otherwise, if you are dead set on submitting an OWP, the WP type is "Open Work Permit" and the employer fields leave blank.

NOT A CHANCE!

"Expert"? Not at all. I am a Software Engineer...

All kidding aside, we will see. There are many trolls on forums like this, so I will have to fight the urge...
