Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hello Everyone,

I decided to call into CIC today and inquire on the processing times for the OWP. The agent informed me that as my husbands application was received on May 16 he is next in queue to get his OWP. She said that currently they are working on May 2 online applications and May 10 paper applications. I asked her if when we should roughly expect it and she said next week.

I don't believe the spreadsheet is getting updated by individuals who get their long awaited OWP's, as that is what prompted me to call in. There seemed to be very little movement.

Mine is May 16 too. expect it means by mail?

Good question, I did not ask that but I would assume so. That is if Canada Post doesn't strike, I'm not sure where they are at right now.

Regardless, we should receive some sort of communication regarding the work permit application being approved.

They have an agreement for 2 years to work out the other issues with the government mediator from what I heard.

Ah good to know they have some sort of agreement.

Yes we have linked both the OWP application and PR application so we should receive notification through that.

Yup, my wife got it June 27th.

I called CIC a while ago to ask if they had received the police certificate they requested (same PCC request letter that many of us got). When I asked the agent if they had received my documents, he said said yes, and when I asked what the documents were, he said 'Schedule A'. I told him I didn't send a Schedule A and he said, 'well, I have it here'. I don't know what his screen looks like, but I assumed the PCC I sent checked whatever box they were looking for. I couldn't get any more out of him after that.

Couple days after that call, I got a CIC note saying that the documents had been received (and presumably satisfied their request).

Don't know if that is useful to you. Was there a separate note about the Police Certificate request?

Agree with profiler though, those are easy ones to redo and upload.

First I sent a CSE advising them that we never received the two e-mails and requested that they resend them. I also gave them the e-mail address again and attached the part of the GCMS notes that referred to the e-mails sent. Not sure what e-mail they would have sent it to but is was obviously not ours.

Second, I tried calling but never got through.

Third, I redid the forms and submitted them via a separate CSE.

Profiler, this is why it is good to get the GCMS notes. Even when I called CIC line they never mentioned anything was missing they said our file was good. I will request the notes in again.

I was so panicked last night.

Now I can read the GCMS notes calmly. 18 pages were received.

Browning911 did you not receive the emails that they said they sent?? If so that is worrying.. how are you to know other than requesting the notes that you needed to do anything.

Had you send in the additional family info form? What more could they want from it if you had!

No Bex. Did not receive the two e-mails referred to. I assumed that PA did not receive AOR2 because Sponsor was representative. So when others received AOR2 Wasn't really concerned. It's baffling to me that the few times I called in to CIC no representative could tell me this. We did sent both forms before but this time I updated them till today's date.

Don't mention it. You may want to follow up your CSE with a couriered copy of those forms you submitted (they can work on them if they have them electronically, but courier will require a signature -- then if they loose it, it's their problem). That's what I did with our PCC today, CSE, then right over to Puro who is sending it to Vegreville via air (they will physically have it Tuesday afternoon). Best $29 I have spent in a while I think..

From what I read, they had been looking for them since June. They didn't send any other form of communication I am guessing (no snail mail, no phone call), so it's not worth fretting too much about it. They didn't decide without it. And seems easy enough to correct.

RE GCMS notes: yeah I mentioned that to the wife last night. Here I thought I filled the form out wrong, that they would demand money, etc. Good to know you got them, and they helped out!

So anyone who has been watching the mess around the PCC's go down, and has read my rants about getting the PCC might find this interesting.

Some happiness in the profiler household yesterday, when we received a registered mail slip with my wife's name on it. You might guess that there was a Police Certificate at the other end of that slip. So, the posted times for processing PCC's from the Russian Consulate in Toronto is about 60 days. We got it in 2 weeks (including the translation). They issue them there, so it's not sent overseas.

I found it odd that they seem to have missed her murder conviction :-X

I did not even think of that. I will also send them by Fedex/Purolator tomorrow. How come you are sending it to Vegreville and not Mississauga?


No snail mail and nothing in My GCKey but to be fair in June GCKey was not up yet. Hopefully from now on they communicate using GCKey.

The PCC letter explicitly asks for them to be sent to Vegreville for processing. I think they would have followed up with something like a registered letter to make sure you got it, or a phone call. Though, there was some pretty ridiculous, heavy handed passages I have read from them in the last few weeks (on the PCC letter, and on a CSE to me) that make me wonder...

But, no harm, no foul. You're still being processed! Nooo problems

Then maybe I should wait until for a reply from the CSE enquiry so I know where exactly to send the updated forms? Our GCMS notes show that application is (or who knows now maybe was) at CPC Mississauga.
