Yeah it's totally just a formality. There is no climax. It's boring. You show up, proof read the COPR to make sure the data is correct, answer 3 or 4 silly non-questions, initial them, sign and date. You take one COPR, they take the other and mail it and one of your photo's away for a PR Card that comes to you in 8-10wks.

Really, it's more drama for you, then for anyone else. You have your DM letter now, so head on over to Service Ontario (make sure it's a full service one, as there are ones that just do vehicle registration and driver's license renewals) and claim your OHIP. That will get you started (then return with your COPR to make sure it's permanent).
Explain! This part I don't follow
I read between the lines here. Thanks, I appreciate that. Glad you made it out :).

Nyet on the grumpy bits..

You can probably take your letter from CPC-M today down to Service Ontario to ask for OHIP. This can start the clock (as it takes 90 days to get access to OHIP). This will reduce your wait time later...

At what point can I get sim

sim? Oh you mean SIN? SIN is the second you have your COPR -- head to Service Canada and tell them you need a SIN!

Sin isn't until after you get the COPR at the landing interview (appointment)

Congrats though. I see you've been waiting since January 2016 ugh. Makes me feel a bit better

Some CIC offices have a Service Canada there, but it's Service Canada that issues the SIN. You can get it as soon as you have the signed COPR.
