Sponsoring your spouse while living in another country

My Wife is Canadian national and she visits Canada almost every 2 years for a month or so. Currently, we are living together in middle east since 5 years and we have a child as well. She is planning to go Canada with a minimum stay of 3 months. I was wondering if I could ask her to apply for my immigration and wait till decision comes out (processing time: 2-3 months) and then return to middle east.

Question:

1- What is the preferred location for applying sponsorship and if it really matters?
2- Is it legally okay if she shows her presence in Canada for 3 months(till she gets local sponsorship approval) and return back to middle east?
Perhaps, this will avoid us submitting proves to show ties with Canada and other documentation.

Any further suggestion/recommendation is appreciated.

Thnx!

As a Canadian citizen your wife can submit the sponsorship application while living outside of Canada. She does not have to submit the application from inside Canada. As part of the application package, she will need to include evidence that demonstrates she will be returning to Canada to live permanently once your PR status is approved.

This last part is key, if you both aren't planning to move back, they will wonder why you are applying for a PR at all.

Is this something you are both wanting to do? It doesn't need to be super detailed but can be just a general plan.

In my case, I said that my wife and I planned to live and teach in Manitoba. So nothing super specific.

it is legally OK for your wife to send the application while she is in Canada, and then leave again. However, you will have to submit proofs, because even when stage 1 is done, the VO can ask for updated information about where your wife is etc.
If you declare that she is living with you in the middle east, then it will make your case stronger as it will show that your relationship is genuine. She will need to send with the application proofs that the whole family intends to move to Canada once the PR is approved : where you will live, what type of job she will get to support her family, etc.
