IMM5768: Financial Evaluation

Question 15: Family Size - Does this include the sponsored people? Or just the family size of the sponsor?

Thanks
Sponsor's family + parent(s) to be sponsored
(same as when you determine family income)

If the parents are divorced and only one wishing to immigrate, then only add one of them to the family size correct Rossei? Thanks

I am also confused about this part. My situation is as follows:

2011: single (Family size 1)
2012- 2014: Married (Family size 2)

I want to sponsor my mother. So, what would be my family size for 2011-present: 3 or as above?

Your family size is 3 for all years.

Thank you for your response. I do know that I have to meet LICO+30% income for family size 3 for 2011-2013. But I got confused when I completed question 15. in the financial evaluation form. It was asking about my work history back in 2011. At that time I was single, so I thought it would be appropriate to put family size 1 for the time period between 01-01-2011 and 12-31-2011 and so on.

But for Question 15 they ask for specific employment period. for example one was unmarried in 2012, how can the family size be 2 (sponsor + spouse) if at that time s/he was an unmarried single?

Now, consider my spouse's side. She is a co-signer. In 2011, She was single, student and had 0 income. Now when she would fill up this table, she would mention family size 3 for year 2011 or family size 1?

How are you so sure?
If you are missing 2011 NOA, that's for sure you have to wait until 2016 to apply.

If you have 2011 NOA but it does not meet the requirement, there's a chance you will get in the 5000 cap. BUT, later when CIC process your application and take a closer look to your document, they will reject it due to insufficient 2011 income. By that time it's probably 2017 or 2018 already.

Thank you!

I have another question .. some forms requires my parents signatures .. and I am in Canada and they are back home! can they sign the form using e-signature or some type of computerized signature? how other people dealt with this issue?
I have a similar question. We are going to sponsor my wife's parents, and when we visited them in the summer, they signed all the required forms. But now it looks like the forms have changed. What is going to happen if we send old versions of pages with their signatures? Will CIC accept our application or send it back? We don't want to waste this opportunity and then wait another year.

Thanks

I have another quick question about supporting documents. Do we need to certify photocopies of all supporting documents (like our Canadian passports) or only of documents that are not originally in English or French? Thanks.

It is the question #15 again :(. When they ask Gross Income/Benefit for period, they mean the approximate yearly income for the employment, or the total income that was earned year after year?

Also, for Question #15, the family size, will it be all the same for all period of employment, as declared in the undertaking section? I still dont know if in 2012 the family size is different then what should I put?

So confusing... Even reading the guide wont help. ???

Reposting my question about the "Minimum necessary income" (question 8 in IMM 5768).

How did you guys answer this question?

Should I just take the value from the Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship in the guide and use that as the answer (i.e. $46,354 for 3 people)?

CIC wants to see your income has been constantly meeting LICO+30% for whole family size (your present family + sponsored parents) for last 3 taxation years (2011, 2012 & 2013).

Suppose you were single in 2011, got married in 2012. You're thinking to put family size 1 in 2011, 2 in 2012 and 2 ( ???) in 2013? Then, where does your parent(s) count? If you include your parent(s) in 2013; that contradicts your logic because your parent(s) haven't come to Canada in 2013 for CIC. With this, you cannot put the whole family size for any of the years of 2011, 2012 or 2013.

Therefore, you should put Your own family size + Sponsored parent(s) everywhere in the forms wherever it asks for. This question has been answered several times before in this topic after consultation with CIC call centre agents. In fact. all the questions on this page have been discussed before. Please, turn back and see.
