Quick help needed as I am planning to sponsor my mother.

We do not have the birth certificate for my mother also she is not having the class 10 certificate or marksheet which has her birthdate. Is there an alternative option?

Please advise.
If you sponsor your mother we don't have to submit your mother's birth certificate or her class 10 certificate. However you have to submit YOUR birth certificate (that will prove that you are her son) and a photocopy of your mother's passport (where her date of birth is mentioned).

Hi all, I'm brand new to this forum.
I have a few questions hoping someone can shed some lights on it.

"Use of representative" - we're using my address in Canada as mailing address and my email as a contact. Does it mean I'm the representative of my mom? Do I have to fill in the form?

Mailing date - Can I mail out the application package before Jan 2? Let say I go to Fedex on Dec 31 and make it a 1 day service (deliver on Jan 2). Is it OK? Some other forums said we can only mail it on or after Jan 2, otherwise they will reject the package. I'm confused. Especially this time Jan 2 is a Friday. I really don't want my package to wander out for two days before reaching CIC. Anyone here submitted on Dec 31 last year and made it into 5000 cap?

Thanks!

2nd Jan should be ok. I think they will only reject the package if they receive it before January.

Where does it say that you need them now when you're applying for sponsorship?

I am going to sponsor my parents...I don't have my Date of birth cerificate. I do have grade ten and twelve certificates and my old passport copies to show relation to the applicant. I am a Canadian Citizen. ...should I include an affidavit from Canadian Notary Public for my DOB?
Please advice on this.

Situation 1:

Both parents pass medical but only the mother immigrates. Non-accompanying father later develops medical problems, is sponsored by spouse, comes to Canada and accesses Canadian healthcare.

Situation 2:

Both parents pass the medical, both immigrate. Father later develops his medical problems and accesses Canadian healthcare.

Explain the difference.
Situation 1: The non-accompanying father is not forced to maintain 2 out of 5 year to stay in Canada to maintain status. (same as not buying insurance, until one gets sick)

Situation 2: The father is forced to stay in Canada 2 years out of 5 to maintain status. (buying insurance in case of getting seriously sick later)

I plan to mail it out on Dec 31st as well. It is the delivery date that matters and not the mailed date. As long as CIC gets the package on Jan 2nd or after we are fine :)

Is it OK to date the documents in December 2014?
Is there any indication that the documents need to be dated on Jan 1st 2015 or after? I scanned the application package thoroughly, and there is no mention of this.

I plan to mail my package on Dec 31st with obviously documents dated in December 2014.

Does anybody have any insight on this?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot Kaiser. This helps me.

You are fine to sign the forms a few days before Jan 2nd. It doesn't have to be signed in the month of Jan. As long as the date signed is not scale dated (more than 3 months), it's fine.

Is RRSP withdrawn counted as an income as it is added to line 150? I am a bit confused. If it counts as an income then we will consider the same income twice!!! Am I missing something?

No, as income was already listed in the gross income of income tax form of the taxation year. All you are doing is delaying the income tax by putting money and declaring RRSP.

I understand what you said. But what makes me confused is that we are asked to report line 150 amount in the form. And RRSP withdrawn amount is added to line 150 of the year we withdraw it.
