No single application recieved by Purolator at 8:45am on Jan.2nd has been charged! This is so frustrating... I am afraid the actual delivery time is on the next day !!

Signature scan for my package was available on 2 jan afternoon. I hope they didn't fake it

Chat with the Purolator agent; This is their answer when you ask for the actual time of delivery: " I am sorry, but I cannot provide the actual delivery time. There were 5000. shipments delivered that day to that same address. I cannot help with this."

Oh my goodness, that is dismal! Now I'm really regretting hedging my bets on Purolator. If they really did have 5,000 shipments and so did UPS, Fedex and Canada Post then that's 20k right there on the first day. Back to my original thoughts - this is a total lottery.

Did the person who used the local courier in Mississauga (AAA i think?) and delivered at 8.40am get their CC charged?

Which goes back to my original point. As much as others thinks they have control on how or when CIC receives the application, really they don't. Setting up a lottery draw for the 5000 picks prior in Dec for Jan PGP makes more sense and fair to everyone. Geographically location and income would have no bearing or advantage in getting their application in first.

Did they put an extra 0 by mistake? 500 - probably. but 5000 with purolator alone on Jan 2. Hmmm hard to believe.

Keep in mind that it's not just parent / grandparent applications that are sent to Mississauga - it's much more than that (i.e. the 5000 wouldn't all be parent/grandparent applications). It's my understanding this offices receives thousands pieces of mail on a regular day. Given purolator would be one of the main couriers used, these numbers may not be that surprising.

You are right Scylla, but only this program was opening on Jan 2nd at 8 am , and it is fair to assume most of those parcels were rushed during holidays for this specific program.

anyone CC got charged who's application got received on 5th January,2015.

so far we only know that there are few people who's CC got changed but their application was received on 2nd January,2015.

I think it's still pretty early. Hard to believe that if you've submitted you applications on Jan 2, they wouldn't go through.

What about this.....process the first 5000 received and then hold on to the next 2000 received that are correct and those 2000 get processed first the following year? Then accept 3000 plus 2000 next year...and so on? They have to catch up with that backlog at some point!

Last year I sent my app in February and was way too late, so this year I was on the ball and sent it in on Jan 2 and got it to CPC by Monday Jan 5 at 8:13am but seems that still wasn't early enough! Next year I might apply and due to higher volume and courier error get it in on Jan 2 but late afternoon...I STILL won't make it into the 5000 cap!

Couriers will have to be setting up tents on the sidewalk (like for boxing day sales) in order to get in to CPC office first!! :o
ITS CRAZY

All these information are still speculations at this point. The picture will get clearer at the end of this month.

Their answer as above proves that the delivery time confirmation is incorrect. If they are not able to help you to know the actual time then why they confirmed that it is delivered at 8:45 ???
