Hi Everyone,
A little bit of background. My wife arrived in Dec.2012 in Canada from China, sponsored by myself. She has a son, who at that time was in her ex-husband custody. We did the medicals, pictures, etc... for both of them at that time (as requirement for my wife and for her son as potential future sponsorship). My wife is still a PR, and she can apply for citizenship sometime next year. (4 years in Canada).
Now my wife is in vacation in China and she obtained the sponsorship of her son. They made the official paperwork, I think is in both Chinese and English. When she gets back we agreed to put the sponsorship papers to allow her son to come in Canada. My wife does not have an income, as she was a student and from September she goes again to school to complete her University degree sometime in the spring next year.
Her son is 15 years old.
So, my questions are:
1. Who applies as sponsor for her son, herself (no income), or myself, as I am regularly employed with stable income.
2. What forms does my wife have to complete now?
3. What forms does her son (15 years old) have to complete there ?
4. Can we use the same UCI number as in her initial immigration papers, since her son is mentioned there as a dependent child (IMM 0008DEP) ?
I know that she has to take pictures of him for the application and most probably do the medicals again.
Thank you so much for your time.
Martin
