Air Fare:

What's the going rate for Incheon to Calgary? Been doing some searching and seems like $1000-$1,200 is cheapest so far. I also read there are non-stop flights.

Korea2Canada,

You are going to Calgary too? I checked flights the other day for July 2014 from Incheon to Calgary for 2 of us it would have been around $2500 through Air Canada. I remember reading a while back to Air Canada would offer direct flights to Calgary but I haven't been able to find any. I think it might be during certain times of the year. When are you planning to go back?

Yes, we are moving to Calgary. In the Spring most likely by May. All depends on when PR is done. I read a news article about the direct flights but didnt search for flights. I see a few sites with tix for $1,200. I've been to Calgary a few times seems like a nice size city with a healthy multicultural population (wife likes this).

Did our licenses last week, English translation, cost 1,000 won per copy. Hopefully they will satisfy the driving agencies back in Canada.

Gov. AB. site states: Approved Translator or Official Translator. Whatever that means! It's good they exchange Korean lic. without testing though. I believe another doc. showing proof of at least 2 years driving is required. Plus Landing Docs. and proof of residential address ( ie piece of mail ).

I think it was bartjones who posted about getting insurance history docs. in Korea too.

Mistake in the application..
I need your help in this forum..My wife is sponsoring me and our application has been sent to the visa office.I needed to update the visa office recently about the new development that my wife has got a part-time job along wt schooling, but I got to know in her payslip that she was bearing another name that was not included in our application.Thank God I have not updated the visa office about the development yet. What can I do? If I send the payslip, the name is not the same as the one in our application because am trying to proof that one of us is working now. Please,I need your help on this!!

Since she has already been approved as a sponsor ( according to your post in another thread ) I dont think it matters what she is called at the new job! Maybe tell her employer to correct the name?

Somebody posted about that insurance history thing. I never got one before leaving Korea. In Ontario you must get your license 'validated' at the Korean consulate before you can exchange it for an Ontario one. The 'validation' document the consulate gives you, shows when you obtained your license in Korea and, hence, how long you drove there.

Alberta may be different, but in Ontario, once your license is validated and exchanged for an Ontario one, you get credit for the time you spent driving in Korea, just as if you had been driving in Ontario.

Why not just email them and tell them that she is now working and provide the location, hours worked, salary, etc (no pay stubs). If they ask for her pay stubs (and they probably won't. She's already approved) you can send them along later with an explanation about the name.
