Early PR: ( yes, being very optimistic here )

If the PR process COPR is complete in advance of our planned departure date:

Can we:

1. My wife does a landing and returns to Korea the next day.

2. We wait for the PR Card to be sent to the Canada address.

3. I have someone send the card to us in Korea.

Then enter Canada on our planned date.

All ok?

No I don't, but if our wives don't have to sign for it then I lose all respect for our government.

Our sons Canada citizenship was sent out in regular mail. No signing required. Thats why I ask. I'll post in general forum and see if anyone has experience on it.

All would be fine. No need to sign for the PR card as it just comes by regular mail.

In fact as a visa exempt passport holder, she doesn't even need the PR card to return to Canada. She could fly to Canada as a toursit/visitor, and at Canada immigration they will be able to see she's a PR on their computer with just her passport and COPR as proof.

This is exactly what we did when we did a vacation to Mexico a few days after my wife landing, and didn't have her PR card yet. Just told immigration we were still waiting for it in the mail and they were fine.

The only risky thing about this is what you tell the airplane staff in Korea. If you say you're a PR but don't have the card they may give you a hard time with boarding. So you have to say you're travelling to Canada as visitor/tourist only and don't need any special visas, and not even mention the PR until you actually get to Canada!

Yes - the April batch has started to get PPR. I'm in the May batch so I guesstimate 4-6 more weeks.

Changing Address E-Cas:

I changed my address on e-cas over 1 week ago. It does show my new address now on e-cas. When I changed my address on e-cas I had to fill in my info and wifes info (Name/DOB, etc). Does this mean I changed address for BOTH my wife and I or just for my part of the process?

I attempted to login with my wifes info to ensure the new address was changed for her BUT I could not login to e-cas with wifes info. Is there something specific I should select from the menu on e-cas site?

Anything else I should to to be sure address is changed?

E-CAS Address Change:

I ended up getting my wife logged-in to ECAS by using the Application Number. In my case, I used the UCI number to login. Regardless, I was able to login for both of us and see that our new address is displayed on the ecas site. Is that enough to be sure the address is changed?

If it is showing your new address for both you, you're all set.

Yes, the new address appears on each of our ecas accounts. Another thing done!
