I have just completed 730+ in Canada and would like to sponsor my husband.
Could I sponsor him with an expired PR card or should I wait until I receive the renewal?
I meet the residency requirement (2 years out of 5).

How long does the renewal take to get? If you don't get it by the time your app is ready to go you could just explain that the processing times are really long so here is a copy of your expired card, and then immediately send them a copy of the updated PR card when you get it.

I don't think they would send back the app for this minor thing, but perhaps someone else can comment on this.

My wife sponsored me with an expired PR card and we had no issues, neither for CSQ.
But it was expired about a week only.
The processing times for a new card s something about 4 months.

A valid PR card is not required to sponsor. However, if you submit an app right after hitting 730 days, your app will most likely be delayed while CIC verifies that you do actually meet the RO. I suggest you give yourself a good bumper of time.

As others said, it is possible. But you have to be in Canada for the entire sponsorship process.
