Hi Becca,
I am so happy you got good news.

Try : Expedia.com

There are flights with other airlines, even if it is not a direct flight, at least he will get out of there without waiting longer for a new medical

I wish you the best

Try Air Italia as well.  You can fly from Casablanca to Rome and stay in the international section of the airport (So no visa should be required to pass through the airport but please verify with the airline) to transfer to a few direct flights to Toronto from there.  Air Canada and Air Italia both fly from Rome to Toronto.

I had my honeymoon in Morocco and flew through Rome.  Such a great place. :)

Hi Again Becca,

I just checked Expedia from Casablanca to Montreal and there are alot of seats available Aug 7th that connect in New York then to Montreal which is not a problem for him if he does not leave the Airport.

He can then connect to where you live from there.
The most important part is that he get to Canada.

There may be a flight to your town also if you check.

Hope this helps

Good luck.

Let us know what happens

Thanks for the ideas, but my husband has never flown before and he does not speak english. Therefore, I don't want to put him in a situation that is less than perfect. I also do not want to have him stranded at some airport with delays and not make it into Canada on the 7th and have the medical expire and have to send him back to Morocco. I tried Expedia and the prices were outrageous. Even just to Montreal. And then he would still have to make his way back to Vancouver. There is space on Royal Air Maroc in business class on the 7th. But that is $3300 Cdn one way and we would still have to buy him a ticket to Vancovuer from Montreal. And besides we have to give the immigration woman an answer today.

I would NEVER put him in JFK - he does not speak english. But thanks for the ideas.

Sometimes the online search engines wont do what you want!!!

Since he is from Morocco I assume he has some French so I built this itinerary for you.

Casa to Paris on Royal Air Maroc. Aug 7th 01:40 arrive Paris 05:40. 8269 MAD $1145
Paris to Montreal on Corsair Aug 7th 13:45 arrive Montreal 15:05. $839 CDN
Montreal to Vancouver Westjet Aug 7th 18:10 arrive Vancouver 20:39. $383 CDN
Total one way=$2367

You can probably get to Paris from other cities in Morocco as well. I picked that very early flight because all the rest seemed to get to Paris TOO late to change planes to goto Montreal.

Lots of choices for Montreal to Vancouver as well...if you wanted to give him more time to get through immigration you could pick a later flight for a little more $.

I found all these flights online using Royal Air Maroc and Travelocity websites but I searched for them individually. Only problem with booking this way is if you have trouble with any of the starting flights the others are not part of the same ticket so it could be considered a more risky way to book.

You might want to try a travel agent as well, they might be able to help too.

Congratulations Becca...that great news...a bit of an incovenience having to deal with last minute travel plans...but hey...you will finally be united...here is my advise:

Have your husband check with travel agents in Morocco for one way ticket before his medical expire. They may get him the best deals than the online site.

Happy for you...hope for more happy new for all those that have been waiting long

All the Marakech flights get in too late to Paris I think. A couple get there at 1300 or a little later but with less than 45 minutes to switch planes ANY delay could mean you miss the all important flight to Canada.

Take the train to Casa and the early morning flight to avoid that. Or maybe there is another airport with a better connection to Paris but I am not the expert on Morocco.

All chances of his quick arrival have been finished. The woman from immigration called my husband already and since we were only given a few hours to arrange financing and find a flight (even less time when you consider the west coast time difference), that option has been taken off the table. Now, once his medical has expired, they will issue a Visa to my husband on the condition that he not leave the country until his medical is attached to his dossier. So we are looking at September 8th at the earliest. HOWEVER, since it is Ramadan and my husband observes it completely, he would have to go 23 hours without food or water, with the way of the flight plan and the sunset. We are now looking at the beginning of October. I know it is far away, but it is better than nothing.

I really resent the fact that immigration only gave us a few hours to transfer money, buy flights -- it may have been possible had I been on the east coast, but not now.

Raven, btw, British Airways no longer flies between Morocco and Vancouver. I always took these flights, but they cancelled them on April 1st I believe. I wish they hadn't.

Thanks for everyones wishes and help. HOWEVER, I will not believe it all until my husband has his Visa in his hand.

Congratulations Becca

just a note to say a quick hi to everyone, and to say everything went well with my husband on his very first trip (first time flying also) from casa to mtl, things went good with customs also, his enjoying his time up north and we've been lucky to have great weather (its unusal to have +20's up here in iqaluit but thats what we've been having)

I've just a quick thing to say about medical as well, my husbands medical papers were expired too at the time of his interview but he went and got it done the next day and 5 weeks later he got the call to pick up his visa, it took time for it to go back to immigration from paris, but he still got it. I didnt believe him too until i got him to show me :) ~

Hoping 75 i hope you hear news soon and everyone else that is waiting, Good luck to all

Hi Dorcas,

I am so happy for you and your Husband. I wish you a great and happy life together.

My Husband is still waiting for that call. It has already been over a month and a half since the interview. Time flies so quickly. I miss him terribly, but I'm sure everything is in God's right time.

Thank you for the well wishes

Hi Becca, I guess I emailed you too late - but I do have other good news, lol.

You don't have to worry about Ramadan, he does not have to fast when he is travelling. If a person is travelling a long enough distance that he would shorten dhur, asr, and icha prayers to two rakat (he'll know what I'm talking about) then he has the right not to fast. So while he is on the plane, in Montreal, etc, he can eat/drink (although he can choose to try to fast if he wants) but once he gets home, he needs to begin his fast the next day. If he wants to make sure about this, here is a link to a website that talks about exceptions from fasting: http://www.islamqa.com/fr/ref/23296/fasting%20travel

He just needs to make up for the days of fasting that he missed, he must fast those two days of travelling after Eid al Fitr. There is absolutely no harram on him in this situation - so tell him to come in September! The only thing is that you'll have to do a lot of sunset cooking, find some good dates and a recipe for herrara soup, lol!

I hope that the medical will go faster for you, and you will be together soon incha-Allah! May God make things easy for you.

I would try to see if you can update your information or your file.... I think they may look at it as a big deal. Do you have any of the documentation from your previous attempt? File number etc.... That will probably help too.

Good luck!
