Sponsoring husband from Morocco

salam alaikum, hello everyone!

I've been watching the forum too, and am saddened by the lack of movement. I really hope incha Allah that everyone who is waiting will get thier visas soon - I am guessing that the embassy is busy with student visas right now, as those have to be finished in the next month or so... but then at the same time, I looked at the posts from last year at this time in the thread, and noticed that everyone was finished the process in 6 months! It's odd, perhaps the new changed with the skilled workers is blocking things up.

Lynn, I was wondering, is there any particular reason why your case is taking so long? Did you have to redo any paperwork, or go into any extra procedures? Incha Allah you will get good news soon.

Hi Ibtissam: Our case is likely taking long because my husband has travelled extensively outside of Morocco. The investigations take a lot longer in those cases. It's the only reason I can think of.

Hi Isabel: Yes we've been married for 4 years now. We were married and living together (outside of Canada) for 2.5 years before we applied for PR. So it's very sad for us to be apart after having lived as husband and wife for so many years. boo hoo.

its like that i noticed if the morocccan spouce traveled outside his country it takes longer, for example Adam and Vesna case,

I feel its not right to keep love ones apart.

Yep. It makes sense though - the investigation process is going to be much longer when you are dealing with other countries bureaucracies. Some days I understand, other days I don't. I'm just trying to get through and hope that we can survive this.

No news yet. It has been a month since my Husband's interview and we are still waiting for that call.
Thank you for asking.

I am so happy to hear that you finally will be getting your police clearance. I can't wait to hear that you were called to pick up your Visa. YOu deserve for all of this to be over, and to finally be with Raven where you belong.

There does not seem to be much going on in the way of Visa's or even interviews in the last couple of weeks. We have no choice but to impatiently wait for that famous call.

lynn i dont agree i have been out of morocco for 12 years and its not a problem the problem in my case is they hade my file almost 7months then they called me for an interview i was approved

Well I think we can all agree that each case is different.

Tomorrow (July 15th) is my four year wedding anniversary. On Wednesday it will be exactly one year since we last saw each other.

I am soo freaking PI**ED -- if you look on trackitt you can find someone who had the same AOR date as my husband, same interview date as my husband, BUT RECEIVED THEIR VISA ON JULY 2ND.

Words can not express how angry I am. I am livid.

13 weeks and not one bloody word. In fact, I sent them a note 7 weeks ago, and not even a response. I wonder if there is anyone working there.

I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. Between my mom's failing health and my husband not being here, I am at the end of my rope. I wonder if my mom will survive long enough to meet my husband let alone see a grandchild.

It's tough I know but I am confident that if it was a refusal they would have contacted you. Within ten days Youssef got his refusal letter.

I know you're angry but hang on and have faith that it will get resolved soon and favorably.

I feel your frustration. I wish I could write something really inspirational - but I know we're waaaaaaaaaaaaay past "hang in there" "don't give up" "be patient" "distance makes the heart grow fonder" and all of the other things people say in an effort to help us feel better.

I really can't do this anymore - but what choice do I have?

OK so we finally had some news. Two days ago I sent a note to the general inquiries email asking about the process to renew my husbands medical as mine's will expire Aug 8th. So this morning (1am my time) my husband gets a call about the visa. They said to him that they will issue his visa Aug 6 if he can find a flight to canada for Aug 7. So I get out of bed, get the internet on and then search Royal Air Maroc. Nothing. In fact from August 1 to the 10th - there is only one day that has availability - August 8th, but then it is too late. So still waiting for a call back from immigration. We had to give them an answer today about whether my hubby could leave on August 7th. He was told that if he couldnt get a flight, he would have to wait for his medical to expire, then get another one and wait for the dossier and the medical to link and then wait for them to issue a visa again. Bollocks. And the worst thing, is we can not get another medical done until the first one expires. So we are looking at at least another two months of waiting. And we were told that he has to use the same doctor that he used for the first medical - which is in Rabat. I just can't believe it.

I guess the only positive thing I can take away from this is that at least he has been accepted.

The saga continues.....
