Hi everyone, well we found out the answer to the question of the authentication document from the originating licensing agency. We were told to call the Moroccan Embassy in Ottawa and they will send obtain the document for us. Thank goodness! I couldn't imagine having to contact someone in Rabat! :-\

Fatimzahra :D

So excited to hear your update and to hear things are starting well. ;D My husband and I talked last night again about how it still feels like we are dreaming. Please pass on our welcome to your husband....and of course we wish you both the best.... it's a beautiful thing when 2 people who truly love each other are finally together. So very happy for you my friend. :-*

I am just wondering how everyone is doing? It has been very quiet here lol... I suppose summer has taken everone away from their computers.....come to think of it, why am I on here?? lol

Just want to let everyone know I am still around and waiting anxiously for good news ;D

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can answer my question, cos they either speak from experience or know of/heard of someone in the same situation as me.

I would like to sponsor my husband to come to Canada. I am a Canadian citizen. Currently, I am unemployed; however I do not receive any social assistance or any type of assistance from the government.

Would I qualify as a sponsor, even if I am unemployed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

While there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship, they'll certainly want to at least have an idea of how you will support yourself. So if you are a student who lives with family, they would likely be satisfied with that. Or perhaps you are a at stay at home caregiver for an ailing family member...so tou have a roof over your head and food on your table...ir maybe you are independently wealthy and don't need to work...whatever the case they'll want to at least know what your plan is for supporting yourself and husband.

Good luck!

Lynn

Hi ... thanks for your reply.

Ya, I wish I was independently wealthy ;D lol ... but at this time, I live on my savings and some help from my family. I work as a Consultant, so I am able to do odd or small contracts now and then.

So then, when I submit my application, that means that I would just have to include a letter explaining how I support myself or how I plan to support my husband and I .... ok sounds good.

Thanks again

vjamal! I am so happy to get your news and to know all is well under the blue sky! lol

I came back home 5 days ago. My husband re-did his medicals yesterday. So I am expecting him to be here during winter, or early Spring.

I had a marvelous summer with my husband, except for the first 3 weeks as we were both sad, anxious, tense and stressed out about the decision of the minister's counsel. We spent 6 days in Ouarzazate and the Sahara close to the border of Algeria. Never tell me it is hot! You don't know what hot is! lol

I spent 9 weeks in Morocco and the last 6 weeks were peaceful and full of love. My husband and I talked a lot about our future life. We also laughed a lot and we took care of each other every day in different ways. I really feel blessed to have him in my life.

Please keep up posted!

Last November the status of the visa application of my husband said "Decision Made". Since the appeal, I have been checking ECAS every day and now today it changed to "In Process". Should I start getting excited?

In process is good and I feel YES you should be excited! You won the appeal and now it's just formality. ((HUGZ))

Thanks FatimZahra for being my cheerleader :)

Today my husband received a letter from the embassy, asking him to redo his medicals. But my husband did not wait for that letter to arrive to redo his medicals. He went to the doctor on September 7. What is next?

You're welcome Habibti :D

My hubby did the same...he didn't wait to receive the letter to redo the medical. Then we just waited...again...it took about 1½ months. When they receive the medical your ecas should be updated indicating so. Then he received another email and call to with the date to pick up his visa. The time between that call and picking up his visa was 1 month. Hope this helps.

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Thank you for the info! When you said you waited 6 weeks, it was between what and what? After your husband redid his medicals, did he send anything to the visa office? My husband did not send anything. Was he supposed to send the receipt?

It took 6 weeks between doing the medical and the update on ecas that they received it. For the receipt...hubby had to go for a 2nd interview because of missing info on one form and at that time he gave them the receipt. Is your hubby close to Rabat? He should call or email to set up an appointment to drop it off.

The Dr who did the medical will send a receipt to the embassy. He does not have to do anything....but if he likes he can take the receipt in... but it is not necessary :)
