I was away on holidays so have not been on here for a while. Hope everyone is well and I am excited for you Fatimzahra ;D ...just a couple days now vjamal...don't worry. At least he is still getting the visa. He is on his way and that is the thing to be happy for

Everything has been great for us(with exception of his smoking) but honestly we just fell into a routine and it's like we always lived together. We went and got his SIN and a bank account, a key for the house and today he is having his English level testing. The organisation that we went to is very interested in his skill set and are keen to get him started as they would love to have him volunteer with the youth program they have there. They are also interested in me doing some volunteering because of my work skills and experience as well LOL ...

You know what I really love about him... I cook.. he does the dishes!! (his idea too!! lol ) Yesterday I got home from work and it was raining. He came out to the parking lot with an umbrella to walk me to the house since I did not have one. He was painting our bedroom yesterday, I picked a very difficult colour, and he was so frustrated that it was not completely perfect when I got home.. poor guy.. I honestly think it looks wonderful and just needs a couple more coats. Really he is so kind to me ... I am very blessed.

I truly wish all the best for everyone here as it really is so challenging .. all the changes .. to both sides. He is always listening for people speaking arabic just to hear the language...lol My advice (for what it's worth) just be flexible...think of it as an adventure, be curious and understanding....and let him take the lead in some things. My husband is off on his first adventure with public transit today to go to his testing. I was nervous at first to let him go alone....but I realised that he needs this... to feel in control of something at a time when he is very vulnerable. So at 5:25 tonight I will find out if I need to send out a search party...hahaha

Oh I forgot to mention.... he has taken on his role of student to my daughters "lessons" wonderfully. He is so good with her. I am so happy....it feels like my life is complete for once.

I was so scared in the beginning. Did not know what to expect really. But so far so good. I know there will be challenges ahead but I am ready for this change in my life. It's only been 2 weeks but we have so many good memories already... It's such a nice feeling to have someone come close to you and thank you "just for everything" lol

No...I couldn't forget you guys I am too curious to see how everyone is doing.

It took 1 month for my sponsorship to be approved and then 10 for his approval and issuing of the visa. When we applied it was a 10 month wait for him so they were true to their word.

i am super happy finally the day has come tomorow my hubby will be here and i am so excited i am so nervous ...i have so many emotions right now .......

Wow when this whole immigration process finishes you feel such a weight off your shoulders...no longer have to proove to anyone or answer to anyone about your relationship....now we are going focus on us finally....

I wish all the best for all of you, and i wanna thank most of you for reading and answering my posts it feels better sometimes to vent and to express yourself where we people understand where you are coming from ......

Ohhhh! vjamal! I am so happy and excited for you! I am often thinking about you. You are so right to say you don't have anything to prove to anyone or answer to anyone about our relationship.... family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, government, etc. I feel the great relief even though my husband does not have his visa in his hands yet.

I hope you can come here once in a while to give your news. I would love to know about your husband's trip, arrival and adjustments to his life in Canada in general.

Here everything is so fine. Every day my husband and I have a very good relationship filled with laughter, interesting talks/discussions and lots of affection and little attentions for each other. I feel I am in a fortress of well-being with him. Two or three days ago, he started feeling sad as he realizes there are less than 2 weeks left together

We are leaving tomorrow morning for Ouarzazate that is also called the Great Door to the Desert. We will spend 4 days overthere. It will be so hot!

We don't know yet where is our file now. But at least I can return to Canada with a happy light heart knowing he will come to join me in 6, 7 or 8 months! Who knows when! But I will keep so busy with work again and prepare th house for him with the help of my mother.

Yes, it is normal you are living a bundle of different emotions. After all, you have not spent time together in such a long time! Your life will be completely changed, his too. Life won't be the same for both of you. I wish you lots of good times and successful adjustments. Big hug! Keep us posted again!

hi i am married to a moroccan man .we have been together five years.we lived in morocco first 2 years then my child and i came back to canada for her education.my husband and i applied for visa but he was denied.now i am waiting for a hearing at the appeal board in toronto.it should be in the spring.i know it is a 3 hour process but i was wondering has anybody else been through an appeal? and what was it like? i am representing myself.does anybody know how many cases at appeals are accepted? and if accepted who issues the visa the appeal board or does my husband have to have another interveiw in rabat? sorry so many questions.thanks

Hi everyone, it has now been just over 10 days that my hubby is here. OH MY GOODNESS!! What an undescribable feeling. He arrived a few days before Ramadan was over which made it a different kind of reunion at the airport

It has been such an adjustment for us both. Him getting use to our way of life, routine and meeting everyone. I don't know who is more overwhelmed?? lol
He's already met others at the mosque and celebrated the last day of Ramadan with them.

The only difficulty we have run into is for the health card. That had to call some one because they didn't believe that the paper form of visa was acceptable until the plastic version arrives. Never thought to add hubby's name to one of the utilities, before he arrived, so that we would have been able to get that out of the way right away.

Now we are in the process of trying to obtain an authentication document from the originating licensing agency, or from the Embassy, Consulate or High Commissioners’ offices representing the licensing jurisdiction so that he doesn't have to start from scratch for the licensing here. Of course he thought it was funny because how in Morocco will one get that since they issue the license and voila nothing else to be done unless you get into trouble. Mind you the system there is now running on a points system like ours BUT when his license was issued that didn't exist. Oh fun fun...joy joy...not lol

Next week he will go to Employment Canada for some training and they will help him brush up on his resume.

Other then that, it feels like he's been here forever but yet all new all at once. Don't know if that makes sense???

I'm not looking forward to going back to work soon. :'(
