Sponsoring a spouse - Egypt

Please I need urgent help about my situation

I am an Egyptian wife who lives sometime in Egypt and somtimes in Saudi Arabia, i have residencey in Saudi Arabia.
My husband is living in Canada and just got his Permenant Residence Card, i have tried to visit him but my visitor visa got refused in the Canadian embassy in riyadh (Saudi)

now we are thinking about sponsoring me but we have many questions in our minds we're not sure about


About sponsoring me as spouse:

1- How much time would it take for him to sponsor me? i have read the processing time in the website is 13 month, but please if someone was the same situation as me sponsoring someone in Egypt please tell me how much did it take to finish the whole process

2- my husbad is coming to visit me in egypt for a month in February 2011, does he have time to submit the papers and applications needed for sponsoring me before he come to egypt ? or he will have to remain in Canada through the process?

3- Do i have to stay in Egypt during the whole process or i can come to Saudi Arabia during that time?

4- How much time he can stay in Egypt that won't affect his PR?


5- What evidence they need to prove that our marriage is true? (somtimes they ask for photos of wedding, marriage certificate...and so on)

7- Can he still sponsor me if he resigned from your work, or he'll have to have a current job to prove that you'll support me financialy?

8- he's going to travel to Egypt in the beggining of February, is it better to start sending the applications and sponsoring me before he travel to Egypt or after he come back to Canada?

hi the only thing i know is he has to be in canada order for him to sponsor u........cause he is not a canadian citizen.....first let him visit u when he come ask him to bring the forms with him so that u can sign them and bring it back.....

hey im sponsoring my husband from egypt

1. i sent the application to sponsor late july about the 26th and a few days ago, dec 20th he got his Passport request. so total about 5 month.

2. what rathika said since hes not a citizen

3. you dont have to stay in egypt

4. i tihnk to keep permanemt recedency you have to stay in canada 2 from every 5 years but can travel as you like

5. any evidence, the more the better, we sent plane ticket stubs, pictures, emails, i also sent kind of a short story thing about 5 pages that sums up our relationship.

7. you dont have to have any financial income, i didnt as a sponsor nor did my husband whos a student as the applicant.

8. its better to visit you first than send the aplication, if hes an egyptian citizen he will need a lot of documents from his native land which can be a very lenghtly process and hard to get from canada, also he as to be in canda to send it since hes not a citizen.

Yes, he's Egyptian citizen just got his PR in Canada, what papers does he need as a sponsor in Egypt, i though that i'm the one who needs to finish lots of papers like my birth certificate, marriage, medical examination...etc, does he need to do some papers too when he visits me in Egypt before he sponsor me??

Did you marry before he received his PR papers or after?
