Sponsor Spouse while Visiting Canada

I am a Canadian citizen living in Canada, my spouse is American and living in America.
With inland sponsorship and outland sponsorship here is what I want to do and I need some guidance.

1- while she visits Canada can I sponsor her?
2- after I sponsor her can she stay in Canada?
3- while she is waiting for her Permanent Residence thorough her sponsorship can she apply for an open work permit?

From what i know 12 months processing for inland and owp can take up to 4 months to get one.

If you will ask me for my opinion id say (if youre married) do outland then just visit each other time to time after u applied. Shes american so she can enter canada without any visa same with as well. Good luck.

1. you can submit inland spousal sponsorship while she is in Canada (and you may apply to extend her stay before you receive AOR from IRCC) .......but it seems outland sponsorship takes less time to complete for US citizens living in USA.....research processing time for US outland on this site.

2. after IRCC acknowledge receipt of the inland sponsorship....she can stay in Canada with implied status until PR is approved.

3. If you submit inland sponsorship......you could submit Open Work Permit application with inland sponsorship......you can't apply for OWP with outland sponsorship

American outland apps are processed very fast, around 6 months. It is generally the better option than inland.

1. Yes.

2. She needs to maintain status. If she applies inland, she can include an OWP app. If she applies outland, she needs to apply for a visitor extension.

3. If applying inland. It takes 3-4 months for the OWP app to arrive.
