Solved: Passport returned from CPC-Ottawa w/o COPR or PR with no reasons

My wife also called IRCC today AM. She was told "your MP reached out to IRCC to make sure IRCC knows that you (my wife) are in Canada. You have done the right thing by following the instructions and sending your passport in. We don't know whether it's received/processed or not. Just be patient."

This is all we got today.

Received passports without COPR.
Called IRCC call center and agent advised that in queue for virtual landing. He said I should wait for a phone call but couldn’t give me a timeline.

Received passport back from Ottawa on Sep. 12, still waiting for a call to complete virtual landing.

In the meantime if your visitor status is about to expire, are you supposed to apply for an extension?
