Hello. I received this update on my tracker after receiving a BIL in GCkey. That's normal. Just have the biometrics completed. Then your next tracker update should be 'Biometrics' section as: 'Completed'

Got my P1 mail today.

Couple of weird things though:
Firstly, I received separate P1 emails for my 2 dependent children but didn't get any separate P1 confirmation mail for my wife, who is also a dependent on my application. Secondly, my Tracker Application status still shows "In progress" even though all sections are marked as "Completed". I also do see a Document Number now under the CoPR Details section now (not sure if it was there earlier).

It's completely normal to see this update even if you paid and gave your biometrics earlier! It'll be updated in tracker soon!

Haha, no seriously, my tracker says eligibility not started yet however gckey says so. And gckey's BG is NA but tracker says In Progress. That is usually R10 check (BG = NA) on Gckey.

Yours will be IP2 if haven't already progressed onwards. Good luck!

Most probably it can be a ghost update. I had one on the 4th and the tracker's eligibility turned to 'In Progress' the next day.

GCkey is the same since 28th Oct where eligibility is IP and BG check is NA

No idea, I've never called IRCC.

Where and which ID do the mail come from ??? am confused. does tracker or GCKey show about P1 sent ?

Tracker and GCKey don't show anything about P1. I did get an update on GCKey in Final Decision section saying that the application is still in progress (basically the same wording that was there before, but now with a date as well). Background and eligibility in GCKey also in progress, no changes there. Tracker got updated first with "Background Check completed", then next day with COPR details.
P1 email came from IRCC PR Portal / Portail RP IRCC, Subject: IRCC - Permanent Residence Portal (PR Confirmation) / Portail de résidence permanente d’IRCC (confirmation de la RP) – App# <your application number here>.

I am currently on implied status as my work permit has expired, and I have already applied for an extension. Recently, I got married and am considering applying for spousal sponsorship under permanent residence. I was wondering if I can apply for a spousal open work permit and start working once I receive the initial letter for it.

Do I need to cancel my existing open work permit extension application before proceeding with the spousal open work permit application?

Don't cancel your existing WP extension otherwise you would be out of status. You can only sponsor your spouse under spousal PR once you become a PR yourself. What you can do is add her as accompanying and include her in your application. In the meantime, you would need a valid status yourself before you could apply for your spouse's OWP!

Apologies for any confusion. My spouse is already a Permanent Resident, and I am currently on implied status. Since the Express Entry score is quite high, I’m considering applying for spousal PR as an inland applicant. Can I submit this application along with a work permit application while on implied status?
