Hi everyone,

I received a requested letter today for my police certificate from my original country. However, I came here to Canada when I was 17 years (and 9 months) old, before I reached 18 years. After that, I came back few times to visit my family only but never stayed there for more than 6 months. When I filed my application, there was no option for my police certificate because I think the system generated that I did not reach 18 years. So I am not sure why they need my police certificate now? Can someone give me any advice? Even I order a PCC right now, it will take around 2-3 months to receive, and they give me deadline is a month from today.

In Tracker, Med, Bio, Eligibility and BG are all completed on December 04, 2024. December 03, 2024, tracker indicated: We received Police Certificate you sent us.

For reference, this is my application progress:

Haha, no seriously, my tracker says eligibility not started yet however gckey says so. And gckey's BG is NA but tracker says In Progress. That is usually R10 check (BG = NA) on Gckey.

Yours will be IP2 if haven't already progressed onwards. Good luck!

I am not too sure if this applies to you but it's mentioned you would need a new PCC from your home country the moment you visit it (even if there is an expiry date in the PCC). This is because they want to rule out that no charges were filed or no crime occurred during the duration you were there. You still went back to your home country after you were an adult, so, that triggered the request! It would have been better if you just applied for it during your AOR! However, what you can do is that you apply for it and then submit the proof of application with an LOE stating that you are waiting for it. This might help but then again it's totally at the discretion of the visa officer.

Thank you so much for your response! I raised a webform so the case analyst can look on that, I also tried to order my PCC today to make sure.
