Labour disruptions impact at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada - Canada.ca

"As early as mid-april" has been mentioned. This is a little upsetting.

EDIT: It is possible, not confirmed but people with urgency may be impacted more than others. IRCC will update the above mentioned page about more as information becomes available or changes.

Services partially or fully disrupted
In the event of a labour disruption, like most Government of Canada services, most IRCC services would be impacted. You should expect delays with:

  • processing applications
  • in-person appointments or events including citizenship ceremonies
  • contacting IRCC via email, phone or social media
  • consular citizenship and passport services
  • passport services in Canada
As we learn more about a possible labour disruption, we will continue to update this page to tell you how services may be impacted.

Damn, I had heard about a CRA strike before but then saw an ad about this government-wide strike last night. Sucks, but hopefully it doesn't last long, or even gets avoided..

Amazing!!!! What a month we chose to apply…. We applied and storm disrupted the AOR process by a month and a half…. Now this will push it another few months…. Kitchener office is already dead… now it will be mummified…

It feels like all oath ceremonies are generally stalled. There is no organic movement in applications as seen usually.
