Guys don't apply online. If you're about to apply for your citizenship don't make the mistake of applying online. It is a scam system and your application will be stuck. I didn't know and applied online in February and now I'm stuck. Don't be deceived by how easy it is to apply online. Go paper guys

My friend gave their test last week - November online , little slow but they are moving

January online applicants have started receiving test invite. As you applied in Feb you would be next.

Well i applied on paper and i regret because it cost me an extra 70$ ( for original color printing and post fees) and i'm single, if i was a family application i't's easily a 100$ extra fees...
i would rather save my time moving to a printing place and to a postal place and save those $ and apply online... use camscanner app for 0$ and staying at home lol.

because 700$ an application it's really a huge amount of money :'(

I printed all the pages of the application plus the passport pages from the office printer. Total cost (to me): $0.:p:p

Of course I paid $30 for shipping to Nova Scotia via Canada Post and $70 for the photographs but those were my only expenses.

I believe validation is important and barcodes are required on paper. They will possibly return and you can resubmit. but I'm not sure, I don't remember anyone else doing that. Others can chime in with their experience but I'm sure that part was required.

Well the barcode is so they can automatic input all what you wrote in the form in there system without having to do it manuallly...

Will see if they are too lazy and send me back :'(

Hmm too lazy? I'm sorry but passing comments like these sometimes irk me. They are processing 100s of thousands of applications...
Maybe you were facing technical difficulties... but the application instructions specifically request the validation of the form to generate the bar codes...I wonder if you tried another computer or made sure u were using the latest version of the form? Did you try reaching out to IRCC to seek help with the form?

We all complain about how slow the processing is but at the same time we really should try and make the applications as easy as possible to process (especially the paper-based applications that are inherently bulky and cumbersome to begin with)...
Skipping out on an important step in the application process then calling them "lazy" while hoping they don't return the application and ending up manually entering all ur details is not ideal

Here's hoping that doesn't affect the application negatively ...all the best!

Question: How did you print the application without validating it? I don’t think it will let you print without the validated box on the first page showing YES.

I could never print the application without validating it. Also, there were several checks where they clearly ask you to validate the form and generate the bar code. Did you miss ALL of them?

Very valid point. I was not able to do anything without validating it.

it didnt want validate, so i print it without validation its possible.

anyway the barcode is only for sensitive information, they can be wrote manually.. and i never heard of someone have his application returned because of no validation, if his form is complete.
