Hello everyone,

I have a question related to the Oath Ceremony and receiving the Certificate.

My profile and my wife's application were updated today to attend the Oath Ceremony on March 25th.
However, we are putting our place for sale in a few days. As you probably can guess, is impossible to know when we will have to move.

I was just wondering if during the Oath Ceremony is it possible to provide an alternate address for the Certificate to be mailed? Or should the address be updated on ECAS?

Thanks,

You can do it now or even if you dont do it now, clerk will check and confirm your mailing address during registration process of the ceremony. So, dont worry....and yes, that new address need not be the same address as in your current profile. Certificates can be mailed anywhere in Canada. After ceremony, you will be asked to send your current mailing address along with the signed oath form.

another quick question, for the ceremony invitation, will it be sent through email or by mail?

Email if you provided one. Just like how you received test invitation (if you did).

Hello All,
Just curious! Can anyone share how the Oath invitation email looks like and usually were you get it from? Do we get from "cic.gc.ca"?

I am 9 days away from my oath and still waiting for invitation. If I don't get an email in the next few days should I email ""DN Cit SCR Scheduling / Convocation SCR Cit RN (IRCC)" <IRCC.DNCitSCRScheduling-ConvocationSCRCitRN.IRCC@cic.gc.ca>"? They sent me the invite for the test

Email will have a pdf attached with detailed instructions, just like test. I believe it was shared by our beloved member, @rajkamalmohanram in the post below:

If you don't receive the invite may be 4 days before the event, email to the test invitation sender asking for one.

Thanks for the info! Depending on how things are going, I will provide an updated address after the ceremony.

Hi. My profile update date has changed some days after taking the test; But none of the stages, even test status has not changed and they are all in progress. Do you have any similar experience?

Still waiting. No test invite. Background completed in September. I'm sick and tired.

After oath ceremony, how long does it take to change in tracker from in progress to completed?

- First they will explain the whole oath process.
- They will ask you to cut your PR Card Infront of them
- They will ask you to sign document (if you already printed, in my case, i said that i will do electronic signature after the oath)
- They will transfer you to next room where judge will take oath from all and do anthem (just go over oath wording and anthem as well)

It would take 1:30 hr in total at max. You will get an email of oath containing all the details so dont worry. Its simple and smooth process.

In my case, next day of oath. Depends how soon you send them the signed oath document. I did send email right after oath. Usually, 2-4 days
