Hello all,

I got my OWP approval and got a letter from CIC saying the same. Can I apply for SIN based on it or do I need to wait till I get my actual work permit.

Thanks
i dont know but maybe better wait to have it , cause SIN number take 5 minutes to do it

I am wondering the same. I think approximately 3 or 4 months from the time BG started.

I don’t understand why our BGC takes long well in fact in EE they can get their PR in max 6mos. To think BGC should be the same process as to all people applying for PR...Does it mean different process of BGC in EE compare to us?

Cool though :)

I appreciate all the info i have received in this forum. You guys have being beyond amazing. I am happy to share.

There is some additional info. I submitted the RCMP report on Jan 4 via express post and the renewed passport about 2 weeks later. That update doesn't reflect that info. I emailed my MPP to ask about that.

EE doesnt not require checking eligibility for sponsor and relationship. People applying under EE receive an invitation (we dont know what they check before the invitation is sent off), but considering that bgc takes aprox 4 months to process, 6 months total is a good timeframe, no? I guess so.

Yeah BGC should take 4-6 months or at least that’s how long it took for the past applicants’ until they got the SAs, AIPs and DMs

My husband (American) and I submitted our inland spousal sponsorship and OWP application at the same time - notified by CIC it was received Sept 28th. We still haven’t received his OWP. When we’ve called the CIC office we were just told that it’s under further review, has anybody else had this? They said they would contact us if they need further information which they haven’t. All of our paperwork was completed and submitted by immigration lawyers. His current processing status says he has passed his medical exam, doesn’t not need fingerprints or an interview and his BGC is under review.
Seeing that so many of the applicants that submitted around our date received their OWP’s approximately a month ago is pretty discouraging, not being able to get any answers from CIC or our lawyer she as to why it may be taking so long certainly does not help either.
