Exciting news, everyone! Today on MyCIC, my background check changed to "In Progress"! I expect I'll still have a couple weeks or a month wait due to having lived in Japan but hopefully I'm getting close to the end!

I'm also Ottawa VO and my app was transferred a couple days before yours so I have my fingers crossed I'll see some exciting news, too!

Hi there! Same here - medicals passed and background checks are 'In Progress' - just need to pay my RPRF, which I completely had forgotten about.

Hoping it will be quick from here!

Hey there, our file is in Mexico too! From what I gathered, don't expect an AOR2 until about 2 months after file transfer.

Submitted our application on September 5th and it went to the Ottawa VO, my husband the main application just received an email telling him he is in the final stage and they need his passport and photos!

Very shocked it only took 2 months and bit!!

Wow!!! so exciting. Can I ask how many pages you sent on your app? was it a lot or medium (insert shifty eyes here), mine tended towards he a lot perhaps...

Pahaha. That would actually be a good column for the spreadsheet, now that I think about it. # of pages in application.

I have my suspicions application length doesn't actually matter much. If the officer is satisfied that the relationship is genuine fairly quickly, I doubt they'd bother going through lots of pages and they'll just toss what they didn't need to use to make that determination to the side.

thanks so much for the pragmatism. my heart is beating fast with all the Ottawa VOers having so much progress, I want to catch the same wave!

I think we should add a column for number of pages, and a column for when background check was started on myCIC. i think seeing that info would be a great resource for many on this forum

I'm...cautiously optimistic. Actually, lies, I'm shaking. No progress on mine in terms of the background check changing, but I didn't expect to see any movement on any September applications for a while, so now that's going to have me on tenterhooks again when I was just settling in for a long wait.

My husband is from the UK and our application was pretty large! We submitted tons of documents proving relationship. Not sure how many pages though!

His medical just changed to IN PROCESS 2 days ago

and his background check switched yesterday to IN PROCESS

and they both still say the same.

And he received his email this.
