I am not getting my hopes up too soon. ECAS and CIC have not changed since I first logged on. It still doesn't even say that I have been approved to sponsor :(. I have been though as I received a letter and ECAS says my hubby's application was started on Oct 28th. Wonder why some update and others don't? So mine is all under review for me him and his medical. I don't know if I should call to harass them or just leave it alone and maybe it will change one day. I do keep worrying about it though, I am a worrywart :)

Congrats to those with the background checks started! That is awesome, hopefully it won't be much longer for y'all!

Good Sign....Should expect PPR request soon

My husband is from the UK and our application was pretty large! We submitted tons of documents proving relationship. Not sure how many pages though!

His medical just changed to IN PROCESS 2 days ago

and his background check switched yesterday to IN PROCESS

and they both still say the same.

And he received his email this.

Good luck to everyone else! Looks like Ottawa is going quick!

I'm...cautiously optimistic. Actually, lies, I'm shaking. No progress on mine in terms of the background check changing, but I didn't expect to see any movement on any September applications for a while, so now that's going to have me on tenterhooks again when I was just settling in for a long wait.

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y know you are not alone feeling like this

I get it, totally. This forum and thread are so helpful, so keep checking in.

thanks so much for the pragmatism. my heart is beating fast with all the Ottawa VOers having so much progress, I want to catch the same wave!

I think we should add a column for number of pages, and a column for when background check was started on myCIC. i think seeing that info would be a great resource for many on this forum

My application wasn't many pages. Only about 25 pages of proof all around, and then the required paperwork. I suspect application size doesn't matter. Instead the most important thing is probably what officer you get!

Come on :) it could be worse I have access to myCIC but not getting updates the application number is still XF... :o :o :) All I got is ECAS and 3 lines in ECAS on PA side last one being "Medicals Received".

Wishing everyone a speedy process.

Cheers :D

That's all I have in ECAS as well, which I think is actually fairly normal. But it felt like it took forever for me to get access to it in the first place compared to others.

Your MyCIC, that's just weird. It's like a couple people have theirs in some weird kind of limbo/frozen position.

Once I was able to get into both, I've been seeing regular progression. But at the same time, we didn't get an SA e-mail until calling and complaining.

We sent medicals upfront and neither ecas nor myCIC acknowledge them yet. Just Medical "not needed at this time". I'm not inclined to bother them about it yet. Should I?

Congrats to all you Ottawa VO people seeing so much progress!

But I am secretely super jealous, because Mexico City VO is soooo slooooow! File was transfered October 25th and nothing since then.. But I am told it's normal. :'( :'( :'(

Hard to say, really. I know it would be driving me nuts, but whether there's an actual problem or if it's just a matter of it not displaying correctly is hard to figure out. I'd hope it's just that it's not displaying right.

You did include the e-medical forms from the panel physician with your application?

We did. Just a one pager, but it had UMI number on top...

Yup, that would be the correct thing. I used plural because I had two - one for my daughter, and one for me.

Good morning fellow September applicants!

I thought I'd start a little conversation with you all, to distract us a little bit during these stressful times ;)

I'm curious to find out how all of you met your partner or spouse? :)

I'll start! I was traveling through Central America a couple of years ago and made a stop in Antigua, Guatemala to do some volunteer work. There I met a handsome local fella and well, fell in love with him! Haha .. That's the very very short version of it! :p

Your turn!

Hi all. I got a new line on ecas. Is this my AOR2?

It says,

1. We received xxxx's application for permanent residence on September 2, 2016.
2. We started processing xxxx's application on November 14, 2016.

Thanks for your insights!!
