Since my partner didn't receive a passport request (she is USA-ian) or an interview, can we assume that the decision was in our favour?

The decision is almost certainly in your favour. CPC-Ottawa does not reject USA-origin applications without first requesting documents or forwarding to an interview.

I hadn't checked ECAS for a couple of weeks but decided to check it on a whim a couple days ago and we got DM! Our application went In Process on June 29th, 2015, and when I checked on July 7th, 2015 it was already Decision Made.

It doesn't say on ECAS when the decision was made but I guess it was sometime between 6/29 and 7/7. I guess I'll have no way of knowing since I didn't check for so long!

Now we are just waiting for the COPR in the mail. How long does it take to get from Canada to the US? We are waiting on pins and needles!

A few users in the October thread have reported receiving their COPRs from recent DMs. The American husband of one of the most recently-responding users received DM on June 26th and had their COPR in New York on the 6th. (Edit: I now see she's replied immediately above, as I was composing this.)

Oh yeah, and yesterday (July 8th) I finally got my notes that were ordered on June 9th. Exactly 30 days including the requesting day and the delivery day. Nice. It's 35 pages of what looks like a database dump but it makes for interesting reading, especially the part where the agent summarizes our relationship proof into one paragraph. Mine says, among other things:

Now I'm slightly jealous. I still haven't received my file's notes, despite ordering on June 1st. CIC's Access to Information department has officially marked my file as overdue and a priority, for what that's worth.

So it sounds like my partner was already "Recommended Passed" as of May 26th when we got a document request. The document request just delayed things by about a month and a half!

That might have been a "recommended pass" based on positive receipt of the document.

I am assuming you are in the UK? Please ignore if I am wrong. I found this website.

Thanks Maria, how is your move going?

We have a friend who is a solicitor who is authorised to sign the document for us, do I have to provide further evidence of us cohabiting again as we sent some information in the original pack? Better to be safe than sorry?

just now to gather evidence of my intentions as a sponsor on how to reinstate myself! Any hints and tips will be greatly appreciated! Don't want to get it wrong and have a set back

Anytime - its going! :) .. moving my stuff across the border this weekend.

I know Sara1 had to provide proof of intent to reestablish residency. Maybe she can help with that. I hope this all goes smoothly for you!..

Finally received COPR today. And it said on it that it was generated on July 3rd, so I guess that was our DM date. COPR received 8 calendar days after DM.

Does anybody have a link to what to do for the next step, and how to land?

They didn't extend her medical date so her COPR is only valid till Sept 13th, which is unfortunately not enough time to get our affairs in order in the US. Is it possible to land, and then come back to pack the house, etc, etc?

My medical test was 25 of June 2014 and my application status still on medical received AOR April 14th so is it expired will I redo it I'm September 2014 applicant Outland (Cairo)
I need advice what should I do my application moving too slow

See the CIC page for rough instructions.

Yes, this is possible. CBSA will care that the sponsored person is actually moving to Canada when landing, but coming back for a while to get affairs in order and such is fine. That's why there's a goods to follow list (B4), even. What they seem to have more trouble with is those that want to land but go back and live/work for a long or indefinite period.

you just have to wait until CIC requests you to re-do your medical...its a very slow process

Best of luck!

with the COPR comes a packet that has all the instructions on what to do next.

Landed Yesterday

Hubby and I packed our tiny Chevy Aveo hatchback to the max and drove from NYC to Ottawa.

I made inventory sheets on excel for goods imported now and goods to follow. 2 copies of each set. Also Four copies of the B4 form. One as the cover sheet for each inventory copy.

We got to the border at 6:36am. The officer at the booth said "oh really??" When my husband told him I was landing. Maybe people don't land at Lansdowne often Lol

We parked the car and went inside. One immigration officer had just finished shift and one was starting. They told us to wait 5 mins, took my COPR and Passport.

1 hour later the first immigration officer calls us and has me initial parts of the COPR and sign.

They reminded me of the condition 51... Which I knew.

And they said welcome to Canada.

Turns out she was training someone so it took her a while teaching him how to input everything in the computer.

No luck changing my name at the border. Which I figured. She told me "that is between CIC and you." So I will get a name change after PR is issued.

Then I proceed to the second officer which stamped my B4s and gave me the receipt.

I kept 1 B4 for the goods imported now and 1 B4 for the goods to follow with me. They kept the other 2 copies

And that was really it. Lol

Still pretty surreal.

They didn't even read my list of goods. They didn't even see our car.

The only question he asked was "do you have any one item valued at 10K or more listed on here?"

I said NOPE lol ... And we moved on.

------- SIN

Got my SIN today. Went 15 mins before they opened. Was 3rd to be seen. In and out in no time. I was able to get it under my married name. Score :)

So that is really it... Tomorrow im going to get my name changed on my ON License and then Wed I will go get the ball rolling for insurance (since I have to wait 3 months anyway).

Yes maria! Hope you settle quickly and get into the swing of things! Where are you living?
