This is CIC's response to me on twitter.

Phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......

I just talked to CIC Costumer Service. They told me that according to their new timeline September 2014 CEC applicants can expect a decision on their application by June 2016...

Does it mean "decision made" by June 2016, which will be 21 months from submitting application? then there will still be months of waiting for PPR, COPR and Visa ...

This is no different then them changing the processing times from 12 to 13 to 14 to 15 to now 17 and now apparently 21. It can take UP to 21 months, depending on your application. But it doesn't mean it will. Most of June/July are complete, there are still SOME left which means they're going on months 21 and 22. But those are the last few applicants.

I think they meant it with all those included.

If we did upfront medicals for work permit, can we submit same for PR ?

Yes you can. I did that and my ECAS has now been updated to reflect that. Make sure that the Medical has your UCI and Application number.

That Medicals has only UCI number. If I specify application number in the email, will that not be sufficient ?

Should be fine. My doctor provided me with 2 receipts-one for the WP the other for the PR which had my application number.

I have only one receipt for Workpermit. It clearly says upfront medicals for Worker. I am not sure can be used for PR as well.
