An AOR is not a deciding factor at all when it comes to immigration at the airport... All they want to see if you have a valid work permit (preferably valid for more than 2 months)
At the airport its all about how the immigration officer deems that you're fit to return to Canada. You're best bet is to have a multiple entry visa stamped on ur passport accompanied with a valid work permit.
Agreed.

Guys..Do not worry...They might take months to get our AOR but they took up to 6 months for Medicals for those who applied before August 2014. So, my guess is they will not take up to 6 months for requesting medicals as they done for those and might take only 3-4 months as the rule still applies to make a decision within 12 months. So, they might not take much time after issuing the AOR unless they require any additional documentation. Also, there were people who were waiting for more than 1 year because of the issues in their file like salary mismatch from NOA with T4 and Reference letter etc. Hope for the best but do not keep searching and worrying. Leave it for a month and come back tosee how it's going because of EE.
Thanks Jaffa for keeping our hopes high !!! sure, after all patience is what wins at the end :)

Hi Everyone,

Please update my info :) My bank draft was cashed on Dec 16. (application was received on Sep 26).

Buy the way, does anyone know the process of excluding a spouse from the application?
I am the principal applicant and I had my common-law partner included in the application. Her and I are not together anymore. I understand I should write CIC a letter saying that my marital status has been changed and asking to exclude my common-law from the application. However, I am thinking to wait for the AOR first. I just don't want CIC to tell me to re-apply since my marital status has changed and AOR has not been yet issued.
Any suggestions guys?

Thank you

Applicants whose applications reached on or before 02 Oct 14 and who had sent a Bank Draft...

I went ahead and checked with my Bank again. The lady mentioned that she is not able to see any amount that has been held with the Bank and she thinks it might mean that the amount has been encashed by CIC..

Am not 100% sure if it means my Bank Draft has been encashed or not.

Can somebody clarify here ?

Assuming it was encashed. Congrats! But to update the ss, we need to know when it was encashed.

Thanks Zareef. I am part of Oct applicants and tracked in that sheet.

To answer your question by when it was encashed, that is what the teller woman in the Bank wasn't able to let me know.. Hence my query and confusion.. Might have happened yesterday or today..

I have been stopped at the airport with just a work permit. It is not enough. You need a visa that allows you re-entry.

I Second the above comment.
Work Permit - is for Working
Visa - Is for travel.

When you are travelling back to home country you might not need Visa. But when you are travelling back to Canada you need Visa over the Work permit.

BOWP - is work permit but one would still need Visa for travelling from Home country to Canada until PR is recieved.

Wow, that's interesting. So they issued your BOWP after your CEC fee was charged even though your eligibility was not determined yet?
That's amazing! I wonder if that's just an individual being nice or an established change in the process...

I hope they do similarly with me!

I was going through the timelines for applications under FSW category. Even though the processing times is twice that of CEC applications, quite a lot have received PR within 6-8 months. Why no such luck for CEC applicants?? :(

Hi Everybody, I had a question regarding my CEC application. My application was received on the 29th of September and my CC has been charged. No word on the AOR yet, I guess it will come sometime in January.

I am getting married this April and plan to bring my spouse over to Canada on a Visiting visa (spouse), then add her into my PR application. Will I have to re apply through Express Entry (for both our PR applications), or can I send additional forms to CIC quoting the AOR (that I hope to receive in the new year)?

Your advice is greatly appreciated!

As far as I know..You're ok to add a spouse to your file once you have your AOR in hand. They will not reject you for adding your spouse because you're adding your spouse to the existing file in the current process (prior to EE). Follow this link for more detailed info:

Congratulations!
Is there anyone else who has applied and received a bridging work permit?
Also, does anyone know how long does it take to receive the bridging work permit while the PR application is in process?
Thanks.
