Hi Joyous, it was my employer who renewed it ... I did not had to to anything except filling up forms ...

So as per threads its clear I can apply open work permit as I get AOR.

Seems Sept 2014 applicants (incl me) have been gifted with immense patience ...

You got your work permit renewed for 5 months ? Strange !

However, you cannot apply for an open work permit until Jan 29 2015 since the criteria is that your current work permit needs to expire within 4 months.

I still havent got my AOR.

In the meantime, I have applied for the extension of my closed WP and got it yesterday.
But there is a new UCI number.

This is making me worried. Would this cause any problem? Need your guidance.

Is there a way I can check if my AOR is received.

Don't worry. The applicant whose application was received on 29th August got AOR on Friday evening. So you may expect AOR this week. Keep checking your emails. Good luck

Since your CC was charged, Indeed you will receive AOR then notify to VO about UCI number. Nothing to worry in your case. Just need patience.

Don't unsderstand why can't they just give out AORs right after they charged our credit cards. The same officer who processed our payments could just easily send out the AOR at the same time by typing our names, address and file number(which I believe is computer generated anyways). It's not like they ran out of paper or printer ink. And even so, they could have at least emailed us the AOR first. This just shows the inefficiency of CIC.

Because we belong to old applications of CEC.

now there is new system of EE. no VO will like take "old" when they want to show off in the new system.

I dont know if any of you have been paying attention to the work permit processing times.
It has jumped from 20 days for an online application to 46 days. So just a heads up to everyone.

Yes it is. For me it took 42 Days. Got it last friday

Question if we recieved our AOR late then what will be happen? as our CC has been charged.

Once we received AOR then our application will actually process ?

Any suggestion.
