My view on upfront medical is that you propose someone who does not even want to go out with you for a coffee. Joking aside, my impression initially was that upfront medical can speed up the process but I personally hesitated to do so. I thought I might get rejection at any point in time and thus had my money wasted.

HI! I have received the medical request for my application received on Sep 23rd...

Now, they also request me an additional police certificate from the UK (Though I only lived there for 170 days!!!) Still... do you guys know how difficult is to get one of them inside Canada? does it take very long? aslo, can that be submitted by email? or will it have to be sent physically? I am very confused since the email instructions are not so clear :(

Thanks in advance!!!!

Guys I am thinking about the recent speed of processing our files.

Remember last year, around June-July the strike started. A lot of cases suffered long wait because of that. The strike lasted about 3/4 months. When the strike ended - I am thinking CIC had Extra people working to cover up some grounds. When they felt they have covered their grounds, all those EXTRA people were re-assigned else where. And now CIC is back to it's original speed.

Also remember CEC process was supposed to take around 12-13 months. But now we have only passed our 7th month. Some of the lucky ones are going to get their Visa very soon. Those are rare cases. Most CEC applicants will take 10months+ . And it will be quicker still, cause in theory we are supposed to wait for 12-13 months.

I guess what I am trying to say is, even though some of you are waiting for MR (including me), we still have a lot of time left on our timeline. The way things were moving, we thought our processing will be over with in 8months+ . But as we can see now, CIC has gone back to it's initial speed.

Immigration officers were not affected with that strike while Foreign Security Officers were. Those people "manage" visa issuance abroad. Thus, Immigration officers were used to "offload" temporary visa processing, making immigration case processing slower...

I have the first hand experience from the UK as I have applied for it at least three times for various reasons. It is quick, if you pay £80 it would take only two working days to get the UK police certificate. You should also add the £48.00 for international courier which you need to pay the UK police. Altogether, UK PC costs you £128 and I would say you will be in possession of the certificate in less than a week. See the link below:

Thanks! it may sound stupid but when I get the certificate, how do I send it back to the CPC? in the email they seem suggest that it can be sent by email, but still they require the original documents. Does that mean that I have to send a hardcopy? or will an email attachment do?
