Thanks!

I may start calling and seeing who is available.

I plan to start with the closest to where we stay, see when they're available, and then get progressively further out until I find someone with a good timeline, lol. I'm willing to travel!

How long do they typically take anyway? Just wondering how much time I'll need to get off work (also depends which physician!), if it's an hour, half day, full day, etc.

Thanks,

Graham.
For me the entire thing took about 40 minutes of waiting and 5 minutes at the doctor's office, then 3 minutes in the blood lab, and some 20 minutes of waiting in the X-ray lab and 1 minute to take it, and about 10 minutes walking from doctor's office to the X-ray lab, which was a few blocks away and operated independently

The following applicants are not required to pay the RPRF:

•dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild;
•protected persons, including Convention refugees.

you should check the cic website and see whether it's still the current rule

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

Principal applicants (with some exceptions) and spouses and common-law partners coming with them to Canada must pay this fee. Applicants must pay this fee before CIC issues the permanent resident visa or before the applicant becomes a permanent resident in Canada.

These people do not have to pay this fee:

dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild; and
protected persons, including Convention refugees.

This is totally correct. You need to print the receipt and fill in the missing information and sign it. You can then either scan this and email it to your visa office or send it via mail.

Hi ta2, is a signature required? I didn't do that, but did not see any instruction related to either filling the blanks or signing. Either way, I emailed (without filling blanks) and posted the document with filled information, but without signature.

The only instruction that I got was to attach/print the email that CPP-O sent while requesting RPRF along with the receipt. Ofcourse, application#,UCI etc, is required in any communication.

Please let me know if I missed anything or if you received a different instruction, so I can do the same.

Thanks,
amdee

Which physician did you go with? One here in Canada? Just seems a little longer than others, so wondering who it is so I can consider that when calling around.

Graham.

I guess just make sure the letter has exactly what they're asking (signature and full name of the person in HR). Your best bet is probably just going to the instruction guide, or the document checklist, where it references that part, and following the instructions exactly. Then you'll have nothing to worry about. They may just want a new copy to make sure you still have the offer, who knows.

Ah, so ECAS doesn't have anything after the line stating when they received your application? It doesn't have the 'we started processing' line?

Good news it's moving for you though!

Graham.
Thanks Graham,
There is new line in the Ecase now "we have started processing your application on Dec 12, 2013".
I have booked my medical for Dec 20 and paid the RPRF. HR has provided me the latest Employement letter.
Should i just send the letter to CIC or should wait till medicals and send it once done? Should i scan thr letter and send via email or send the orignal via post?
please advise,

Thanks,
Toor13.

Hi,

I'd send the letter asap.

I'm not sure which method it should be sent by. Does it give any indication in their email to you? Usually they want original copies, so you'd need to mail it, but I'm afraid I'm not sure.

Graham.

Hi p_sreenath,

(a) I emailed the receipt without filling any information. I did not read that as a requirement, but the email that I sent had Application number in the subject and other details as content of my email. I also attached the email I received from CPP-O requesting the RPRF
(b) Based on input from other forum members, I also posted (canada post) the receipt along with the printed email that I received from CPP-O. In the printed version of the receipt, I filled out all information (but did not sign).

I agree, it's better to put the information down, but I am not sure about signature, but no harm doing it, since you haven't sent it out yet. I was just wondering if it's required, or just something that may be better to do.

thanks,
amdee
