If I'm not mistaken, New Delhi in general requests passports early and holds onto them.

Still, a PPR is good news!

Exactly, it is movement at least, much better than sitting and waiting and waiting, although now that you have the PPR you will now be sitting and waiting and waiting some more :)

YaaaaY! I got an AOR from Warsaw's VO! :)
Fingers crossed for no interview, unless within a month while I'm still in Poland. ;)

BTW - IvanP and others who applied to Quebec's MICC - did you get anything from them saying they are processing your app? I went there (Montreal) and dropped my envelope in a special box. There was nobody to receive etc.

No, nothing yet, but our credit card was charged about a week after the application was received (according to the courier's delivery confirmation), so we know MICC received it and opened the application. Apparently it takes around 20 business days for MICC to make their decision, which for us would be by Nov. 23, so we're hoping to hear something (positive!) quite soon. Even though it's earlier, I've started checking ECAS to see whether they make any sort of notification (like where it says medicals received) that they've received the CSQ. If they do, I'll let you know!

Does anyone know which office updates ecas with medicals received for Outland apps? Mississauga or the VO?

Wait, let me rephrase. Does that mean medicals have been received by the VO or by Mississauga?

Hi Bluebloom,

from the looks of it ,seem like the VO would update ECAS for Medicals Received, cuz if it was mississauga office, they would have done it right when they initially receive the file.
My 0.02 cents...

Hmm, from my experience it's Mississauga. I had the message "Medicals received" in my ecas straight after they approved Stage 1 and before the app got to the VO. Mississauga officers tend to add it to the ecas at the end of Stage 1 but in my understanding having the medicals done/received is one the conditions to approve Stge 1 as well.In mean, the app is not really complete without it so how can they approve it and send it to the VO if they don't know the outcome of the medicals. Or am I mistaken? :)

I don't think that the medicals are considered at the sponsor stage, except to the extent that you are required to include the receipt from the doctor showing that the sponsored persons were examined. It seems like they just put the notation in the file to show that the doctor has actually sent the medical reports to CIC and the medicals have been matched with your file. If there's a serious medical issue, it would be considered when the sponsored person's application is reviewed (although it seems like spouses and children are largely exempt from the requirement that they not burden the Canadian medical system, so not quite sure why the medical examination is required at all...).

How CIC actually works is a puzzle, isn't it?

This makes sense. I don't think the update of Medicals Received necessarily has to do with the outcome of the medical exam, rather completion of the file before it can be sent to the VO for the 'meaty' processing. It's just a bit strange they'd do that after Stage 1 approval but before sending to the VO. Basically, I wanted to know if I could use the update as a backhanded way to say my file has been sent to London VO, heh.

Hi everyone !!!

Finally ! My husband got his sponsor approval today in the mail but it was dated Nov. 7th. And we are ready to mail our Quebec undertaking tomorrow.

I can also check our ecas. Using my application number it says Medical received.

Goodluck for the stage 2. 8)

Congrats! on too stage 2 now!

My family's VO is CPP Ottawa, and my son's name was misspelled in the AOR, so I contacted Ottawa, and they confirmed that it was just a typo in the AOR, and that it was correct in the application. Because of the typo, I had a reason to contact them, and was thus able to get confirmation that the VO actually already had possession of the application (still waiting on the CSQ for Quebec, though, so I know they haven't started processing it yet).

You are right. There two main medicals processing centers: Ottawa and London and maybe Sydney. If you are applying from Europe/Asia, then it goes to London. They process your medicals within 3 months and publish a report on applicant's health. CPC-M just checks if you attached your Medicals sheet and look at their system whether your report is issued in London. Then, VO gets the results of medicals from London and takes further actions:
A - good health, admissible
B - good health, but had some health problems before, need some extra checks
C - fair, needs extensive cure, thorough check and can be still admissible
D - not admissible

In case of A, they go on. In case of B and C, they ask you go through thorough check-ups with justifications that you are still admissable. For D, they send you refusal.

hooray delhi aor and ppr came today
