I am so happy to share a good news!
I just received a letter "Notice to Appear"!! Finally!! It's ALMOST over! I was worried as I am expecting in early February and I haven't heard anything back from them since I wrote my test in October.
The odd thing is that it will be at the Scarborough center. My file always has been with St.Clair.
Anyways, here is the timeline for those who are curious:
applied on Oct 24 2011
CIC received (I got the letter) in late nov 2011
being processed on July 26 2012 and RQ-ed at the same time.
sent the first batch of RQ in Sept 2012 and CBSA report on Oct 2012.
I was told that my RQ was reviewed in Aug 2013 and was told to wait for the next step. They also told me that my file got transferred to Scarborough.
I got a test invitation from St.Clair, my home office. It was on Oct 21.
Lastly, Oath scheduled on January 9th at Scarborough.
For those who is still waiting and upset about their RQ, I am sending you all the good vibes!
I have been here more than 10 years, international student for 4 years, work permit for 1.5 years, PR for past 5 years.layla.bee said:Congratulations. I am happy for you.
I have applied for Citizenship in Sep 2011 after living in Canada as an international student for 5 years, and 3 years of immigration status. So, in total 8 years.
I received residence questionaire in July 2012, I sent the documents in Aug 2012. Now I called CIC today, and was told that they sent me a letter. I asked them what is that letter for, is it a test date or what, but they could not tell.
Have you received anything like this? I am so concerned, and upset at the same time that why it is taking them so long, when I always stayed in Canada, worked at reputed jobs. Can't they confirm my residence from that?
My eCase says that 1.We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on September 26, 2011.parkbr said:I have been here more than 10 years, international student for 4 years, work permit for 1.5 years, PR for past 5 years.
I have worked all the time without any significant gap between jobs - one week break twice - and that's it. I have no idea why I got an RQ, but oh well. C'est la vie.
What does your ecas say? Mine said 'test invitation was sent'. If you see the same thing, you can call CIC again and ask them if your test date has been scheduled and ask for the details. If not, it will be something else.

I have been in Canada now for 11.5 years. When I applied it was 8.5 years. Did you get any letter prior to getting the date of test? Like your RQ is reviewed etc?
