Eldis, when you sent the passports to VO Rome hope u used express courier (visa pack) if yes, you have enclosed the prepaid envelope with your passports so will be VO Rome to notify you by email for what to do.

So my CIC account today changed to the following:
Application status - We received your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility - We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results - You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents - Not applicable.
Interview - You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check - We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision - Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

So, from your experience, am I finally near the end? I mean does it need more than another month to finish?

@Arb1985, how are you? If i may ask, did you apply inland or outland ? I applied inland through Rome vo since I m from Malta. When did you apply?

I applied outland. Mississauga received my application on September 2nd, while Rome started processing it on October 17.
Today i received the mail to send my passport, although on my CIC and on ECAS the application is not closed, and decision says not made.

Hey Guys! I'm new to the forum...
Even my outland application is in Rome Vo.
I sent my application December 5th 2016 and they transferred it to Rome on December 28th 2016...still waiting...looks like that average is 6 months. Hopefully it will be faster than that

You should check processing times on the CIC website. When i first applied it said 6-9 months, while now it is up to 11 months (for those who applied after December 2016, i think).

I believe CIC has changed the style of the page,so it says that to everyone.
But let's hope your background check really started my friend.

I sent my application Dec 5th 2016 and it got transferred to Rome on Dec 28th 2016.
I'm from Italy and already in Canada at the moment ....I know @Arb1985 that they changed the style but till yesterday morning it was saying Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check...now it changed to we are processing your background check
